I recently had a forced name change 20 seconds after posting something in chat.
No doubt the reporting multiboxers again.
So it looks like not only do they do it for ingame chat but they now do it for inappropriate names, even if they are not inappropriate. The name means “cause slight but persistent annoyance, discomfort, or anxiety.” but I won’t post it here but the first 4 letters are the same as the first 4 letters of a racist word.
I believe they work on the system of “if one person finds it offensive then its offensive” so it wouldn’t surprise me if they haven’t put it on an auto change system just to lessen the load on the GMs/CMs
If it is the word I’m thinking of then a big old eye roll for people being offended by it and I hope the character is a gnome
Nope it ends les. The only reason I can think of apart from the mistaken people is she is on AD, but Blizzard didn’t mind me called a priest Cellar.
Oh yes, a lady Gnome.
The ticket time is going up but I was expecting that and I know it’s inaccurate.
I’m hoping for a reply before late tomorrow as I’m doing Coren Direbrew every day on her to easy level Her. Currently at 13H 55M, which has gone up by 40M.
picking names are stricked deffetly on RP servers u can get forced to name change for not haveing a RP name … Exempel Soda played on Agent drawn in 5 mins he was forced to name change just becourse it was not a RP name …
I wouldn’t recommend it though, because repeated violations of names will lead to actions against the account.
First time, you’ll most likely just get a warning or forced namechange. More than that and you can start to get suspensions.
This is correct too, yeah! The roleplay naming policy exists for servers with the RP tag, but I don’t think Thunderhorn is a RP server? (If that’s the server Dottie plays on)
the problem is that because the population increased, they created an automated system when more than X complaints exist, it is activated immidiatly, most of the time without the knowledge of the GMs. and people abuse it.
so yup, you will have to submit a ticket (until it will happen again).
No offense, but if the name is too controversial for you to comfortably post it here, that’s probably the reason you were forced to change the name.
The problem is distinquishing between people like you, that use normal words that are mistaken for profanity and people that actually try to mask profanity.
Just because a word is okay to use in a specific language, I personally don’t think it’s okay to use it in the context of a different language.
For example in germany we have the word Fagott, which is just an instrument.
But just because it is okay to use in german I wouldn’t assume it’s also appropiate to use in an english context.
Argent dawn (and other RP servers) have special naming rules, is the name in violation of those perhaps?
Specifically:
Examples of common unacceptable or disruptive RP names include (but are not limited to):
Non-medieval or non-fantasy names (For example: Slipnslide, Robotman, Discoinferno)
Names that reference well known people, characters, brands, places, or icons (For example: Britneyspears, Austinpowers, Mcdonalds, Georgewashington, Newyork)
Names that consist of multiple words (For example: Inyourface, Welovebeef, Howareyou, Sixtyseventy)
If it was on AD, I fully support it being namechanged. We have a problem with people trying to be clever and willfully breaking the naming policy which is disruptive to the server rules and roleplay that goes on.
It’s not difficult to find a RP-appropriate name, and if someone doesn’t want to do that, the other servers are available to play on.
