Tell me your experiences and if I am just missing out “main spots” on the Dragon Isles so far…
If you wander through some of the most recently updated guild-posts around here, you’ll see so many getting ready to bring RP to the Dragon Isles, or already there, roleplaying away.
Holidays and the freshness of the expansion has probably delayed everyone a little, but here we go!!
The Dragon Isles are extremely sharded, which is why you’re unlikely to run into any specific player there unless you join a group with someone you’re specifically going to RP with.
There have been a few server-wide RP events on the Dragon Isles, such as this one:

I assume there’s guild RP, too. Personally, I’m accompanying the <Kirin Tor Intelligence> guild at Camp Antonidas. If you’re into mage themed RP, perhaps you could contact them!
as Ironwyrm sayd: Holidays and the xpac being released by not too much time has delayed alot of RPers to collect stuff, like me, who joins those rp events that sometimes pop up, but mostly play the game for now.
Edit:
Forgot about this. give it time and the shard barriers will fall
Not 100% sure that’s true, weren’t kul tiras and Zandalar sharded even later into BFA?
They were and might still be since they´re the default levelling zones now.
Sharding will be a thing until the expansion ends, which is why you need to group up with other RPers to be able to see each other.
idk, i’ve never RPed in BFA.
well, time to make a group in group finder for rp!
Both the Ironheart and the Brotherhood of the Scale are heading to the Dragon Isles IC after the turning of the year.
I assume more guilds are doing so.
Most roleplay groups are restarting their schedules and sessions with the new year, yeah!
It’s a new expansion, people are raiding, doing PvP, grinding for cosmetics, doing mythic dungeons, and so on - and on top of that, it’s the holidays. So, the general consesus of most roleplay guilds is that they’re starting their roleplay in January or Febraury.
I am not involved in RP scheduling at all right now but I imagine a bunch of people looked at “holidays just after expansion launch” and decided to hold off starting any big guild plotlines or extended public events on the basis of this time of year being a scheduling nightmare.
With people being busy during this time of year, alongside Dragonflight being heavily sharded.
Youll unfortunately strugglr to find RP
Yeah, but it’s mostly guilded. I know that Lore and Order have a couple of small personal arcs happening there at the moment but those are bubbled up. We’ve also used some of the locales for guild RP too.
There are currently no main spots but there is indeed roleplay on the Dragon Isles, people are exploring, and others are developing their character stories. You see people here and there doing things IC, or generally just being IC.
Alliance Salvaging And Procurement are still exploring and searching for items of interest, and there are other guilds wandering the island too.
This just makes RP instances an even more important request for RP realms, honestly…
i had an idea to make a community for casual RP in the isles, but idk yet.
I stumbled across some RPers in the hunter camp in southeast Azure Span earlier. Hope they didn’t mind I kept flapping over them but they were stood basically next to a questgiver so it is what it is.
I saw some blood elves at the expedition main camp at the Waking Shore.
Unfortunately like Elenthas, I flapped on them due to location. I actually thought they were NPCs till I saw my chat box was full of their idle IC chatter.
I did stumble upon a Vulpera and a Worgen RPing in one of the far off towers in Thaldraszus.
I dont know on English Servers, but on French Side there an all open expedition organized for January. Between progress and holidays, they understood the event would not be as popular if they did not wait.
BOOMTEC and side guilds will be travelling to the Dragon Isles come the New Year. We’ll be doing exploration RP to start off with but eventually we may set up a base camp/outpost somewhere!
