Doing 20% less dps than equally geared shadow priests and hunters LAWL. Almost 1 button rotation spamming chaos strike. Squishy af. Can’t even enjoy playing tank spec in pvp since that was nerfed into oblivion. GG.

Ppl who say that havent played any form of pvp lol. Go check arena logs and see how many dhs are in top teams? Go see raid logs and dh aint there in top place? Only good in mythic+ and open world pvp lol. l2p issue if you loose to dh
I think it’s a bit early to tell, though the rotation does feel really sucky with blade dance just not being a thing anymore, its almost like they’ve somehow managed to prune us which is nuts but hopefully that will get revized. Yes we are not doing much damage but its early days and we are all still messing around with builds and talents and dealing with the loss of stacked corruption. The current build is as boring as watching paint dry so I’m messing around in some lower keys with alternate builds trying to see if I can get a more interesting, less clunky playstyle going for me. Of course there’s going to be classes that are massively overtuned right now and classes that are massively undertuned, its going to be a few weeks of balancing around for sure but I think we will be okay in the end!
It’s only pre-patch, just play around with it or try out some other classes until things feel a bit better. It’s no way ruined, just reeling after a big drop in power but we will be alright. I also did a +20 key and me and the warrior were doing about the same damage with similar level gear so I think others are def in the same boat.

Well… They did around 20% more dps from most specs in all BFA-Legion seasons just by pressing 3 buttons… If now they are not that good vs 2 specs, you should except the inevitable right?

There are unfortunately not good options for neither Vengeance or Havoc. We even had better ones in Legion with the Blindfold.
I would just go for the "Cast another Eye Beam / Fel Devastation " cause thats how you dont gimp yourself with both specs while still allowing some better meaningful damage on Eye Beam / Fel.

Well after playing around I find momentum feels the most like a “full” class since Blizzard wants to prune blade dance from our rotation. It seems like they want to push us into momentum. The numbers are way off though, I simply can’t keep up with the favored classes anymore.
Need to be patient as dh it will get better as game is designed for lvl 60 not lvl 50 it is like this every prepatch.Illidari has been stopped for now .But, Lord illidan knows the way!
My BM hunter is doing way more dps than my DH. Lets wait for Shadowlands what all classes are now more or less balanced for. Actually we still have essences and azerite items which is ruining everything.
For now I feel comfortable with Talents 1,3,2,x,1,x,1 or considering “Eyes of Rage” azerite skill (still reducing Eye Beam cd by 1.4 secs per fragment) 2,3,2,x,1,x,1.

You have protected specs and you have non-protected specs. Or should i maybe say protected/non-protected classes.
Havoc have not been nothing near the level of OP as the community have manufactured it to be. As others have pointed out: Not the top spec in any kind of content. Easy enough to play for sure, but most specs are.
Now DH is not a “Protected class” - Its a new class, who have been decent+ and at the same time pretty easy to maneuver, and being a “Hero class” with some cool gimmicks simultaneous makes it a popular pick among new players as well as rerollers.
Wich have led to a lot of hate on the class. “DH killed me in game, nerf it!” has become a “Popular opinion” - And when everytime a “Non-protected class” has been performing decent for a while, Blizzards answer seems to be to nerf it to oblivion to the degree the spec is litterally a joke that no one will play.
Community are fine with this, “Justice” is much better then balancing - As long as it is a “Non-protected” class.
When people in this community refers to broken op specs and previously broken op specs, wich specs do they refer to?
They mention Ret Pala in WOTLK because they are still buthurt that Ret Pala were actually good and fun at the same time for once. DK to some degree. Enh shaman whenever they have been decent. Feral druid the same. And now DH. If DH gets to be mediocre or a little bit better people will spam “NERF/DELETE” again everywhere because they see DH at the “Bottom” as some kind of weird justice.
Meanwhile, you have two-three classes that have dominated the meta in every content, expansion and patch since Vanilla and there is little to no debate about it. Rogue, mage, and to some degree warlocks.
DH kills a less skilled player in wpvp: “OM>G !!! HE KILLED ME INGAME U NEED TO NERF TO THI GROUND CUZ I REFUSE TO ADMIT HE WAS BETTER THEN mi !!!”
Mage and lock oneshots geared people with GP and CB: “HEHEHE LOL KEK BUT THEY ARE JUST SUPPOSE>D TO BI LAIKE THET KEK”
Rogue resetting, picking fights and killing just about anyone while stunned: “KEK GIT GUD RAOUGES ARE SUPPOUSE>D TO BI GUD GIT GUD ROFLMAO”
DK and DH are not hero classes. Rogue, mage and lock are hero-classes. The heroes of blizz.
Can you imagine if the current dps tier lists for bfa were turned upside down? Putting enhancement and feral on top, and most rogue/mage/lock-specs on the very bottom?
It would have been riots in the community.
I do wonder if rogue, mage and lock are the most played classes actually, and whether people play them because they genuinely enjoy the class flavor or just because they are usually op and get love from the Devs regularly. At least we know that most people playing the underdog classes do so because they enjoy the class to the point where they accept they won’t be at the top or playing an Op class at all.
