You are not supposed to play a tank in PvP Thanks. 
Completely agree they savaged the Havoc spec to hell, what a complete mess.
I did a little training dummy testing on several of my L50 chars, all with mediocre gear around L106-112. A very simple test using Skada damage meter just to give me some rough comparisons: hit the dummy for 1 min, calculate dps over an average of 5 rounds.
Frost Mage 106 gear - 1424 dps.
Unholy DK 111 gear - 1749 dps.
Elemental Shaman 112 gear - 2245 dps.
Havoc Demon Hunter 110 gear - 1174 dps.
I have 3 DH’s on different servers and noticed very few are being played now. I’m just going to retire mine, but they can get rid if the spec entirely as far as I am concerned.
(ps. I normally play Fire Mage but found Frost to be far higher dps now).
15-20 keys dh havoc is useless. And only fell dash + flame build… Other - absolutely not dmg…

Last expansion I played feral. I had to stop playing after 2-2,5 months since the launch. Now I am goin to pick DH, mainly for tanking M+ with friends, but I d like to raid and PvP as dps + some pugs as well ( m+ ). In other words - If am not tanking for my friends, I ll be dps.
I just dont want to end up with a class that nobody wants to play with 
( it is more important, because DH is not able to pick more suitable dps spec or even heal like druid is able to.
So the question : Do you think that picking DH as a main would drive me again away after few months of utterly class stigma.

DH is ok for those activities, excels in mythic+, though and pvp and raids he is a rather mediocre performer compared to other dps that are S Tier.
I am talking lvl 60 Beta with unlocked conduits.
The question is more do you like that class gameplay?
dealing dps with your mobility?
Maybe its fun for a while but think long term.
I don’t play DH because 1 expansion is, enough for a class with only 2 specs and clunky gameplay, might be a good class to gather mats, though like leather. 
dh have 1 spell dps now unplayable, dh now just for tank

Borrowed power. Every player with an ounce of reason knew this.
Outside of rented talents the spec was garbage.
On my dh half my damage was from corruptions and azerite traits.

Death knights were OP for three expansions.
No, i experienced Dk in prime power during wotlk they never came close to that since.

Yes do it! I played lot of pvp in bfa and legion and i liked dh it was fun to play against them, people will always complain about some class in this game.I suport demon hunters even thought i main paladin for 11 years.

I mean, I would but they nerfed my SPriest damage by ~50%
