HC Battlegrounds with Arena rules (no ressing, but no permadeath)

Hi, I’ve been designing multiplayer games for 17 years. I worked on many of the popular Moba games for PC and mobile. I also played vanilla, TBC and Wrath extensively.

Hardcore WoW is amazing!

It saddens me to see that the Battlegrounds feature is completely disabled in this version of the game. What a shame!

Back in vanilla, I already thought that the Spirit Healers in BG’s were doing too good of a job. The respawn timer of 30 seconds was way too short in my opinion - and made everything a zerg fest (industry jargon).

Especially Alterac Valley comes to mind :relieved:

Arena mode in TBC was awesome! I believe the same rules could be applied to BG’s in Hardcore WoW.

I think it would be interesting to:

  1. Disable the Spirit Healer, so that you get 1 life per BG.
  2. Disable permadeath for BG’s.
  3. Have the same 1 BG per day as with dungeons.

This would make every BG match be meaningful. No more fast queuing for AFK farming PvP rewards.

The Alterac Valley Battleground would be particularly interesting because suddenly the troop upgrade quests and the NPC spawns are very important. No more who-zergs-the-general-faster strats!

I suggested adding PvP to the HC mode in the form of the ability to visit battlegrounds and be resurrected there, but what you suggest is also interesting, both options can be done, they do not contradict each other.
I would also add an arena with a rating, since the classic is famous for its rich arsenal of PvP items when clicked with interesting effects, for example - the impossibility of stealth when hit, or removing root effects on crafted boots and similar items in the realities of the rating arena with professions.
Achievement system, with many new achievements. wich can be removed in the interface.
