WoW went pretty far without any sort of holy resistance, so… egh?
There was flasks/pots that absorbed holy damage
I demand decay resistance. Decay is a pillar of magic and it must be recognised as such, none of this “oh it’s not really important enough so it doesn’t get a resistance stat” malarky.
It aint important enough.
Fire and Frost aren’t even major aspects of the cosmology! This is nothing more than the continued institutional discrimination against Decay users and those adjacent and, frankly, I’m tired of it.
Decay is for edgelords.
Fine.
But it will be part of another major cosmology rework.
We’ll split Light magic into Radiance, Illumination and Glisten for no reason whatsoever (With only two of them getting dedicated resistance), then make Fire its own realm with Heat and Consumption as contrarian cosmic forces inside of it, turn Life magic into a cheap Knock-Off of the Kabbalah tree of life to make raid bosses out of all the individual Sephiroth in one of the upcoming expansions (preorder now!) and finally retcon Fel to Entropy to make it sound more neutral. And then, you get Decay resistance.
Okay this one is actually very likely+believable.
How so? The cosmology change happened way before Void Elves became a thing.
I’ve said this one a bunch of times in various levels of jokeyness, but basically the idea that the (pre-voiding) Void Elves were forced to go to Dar’Khan of all people for research, when the Forsaken are nearby and their closest allies and have researched Shadow magic without any restriction for over 15 years, is farcical.
quite far to walk though tbh stonetower, and who wants to take that weird teleport crystal in silvermoon let’s be honest
much easier to look through the obscure writings of a reviled enemy of your people who is dead and can’t give you any advice if none of it makes sense
then just experiment away and see what happens
I’ll tell you what happens! THey bring in danger the Sunwell and their people! Have you ever seen an Forsaken Shadow-Priest near the Sunwell and draw in Void-creatures because of it? Exactly! Cult of the FOrgotten Shadow should’ve been their go-to-place to learn about Void/Shadow magics!
Instead we have that one Orc Dudette, that learns everything Arcane from Undercity → teaches it to the other Orcs(thus opening the Mage-class to the Orcs)… While the literal Kingdom created upon the very foundation of Arcane Magic is just abit further up North. Its like Blizzard isn’t even trying anymore
is this a brigante post?
wait nvm i got it now, just that first sentence threw me off
Ahh cool! Probably could’ve worded it better anyways, tho
Void elf bad, simple facts
Yes. Just all 'round yes, please.
To keep to the theme of the thread
People who think Warlocks are still openly welcomed by your average community
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
And to add to it, the blood elves use shadow magic (like Sunfury Nethermancer). Helya, they even had a caster turn into a voidwalker without issue in the eye. (High Astromancer Solarian)
But they never saw themselves as part of the Horde.
Those are all Kael’thas’ followers. Void use is outlawed in Silvermoon but as we know Kael’thas played by his own rules.
