"Heal me FFS"

So I just figured I’d post this here, perhaps some PvPers still read this forum.

I’ll start by saying I’ve been an active PvPer since I started the game and have already done the R14 grind in earlier phases as a Holy Paladin and have been active even after achieving the rank although going from a pre made to just casual solo queuing as I prefer it over pre made stomping.

One thing I notice Alliance side is that in PuGs especially we often lack healers and your more likely to see a Shadow Priest or Ret Paladin.

Quite often in fact I’ll see players berate Ret Paladins and blame them for the loss. These exact same players will often be found in the middle of WSG farming HK’s, expecting a pocket healer to follow them around they will pay little attention to stopping the EFC or even supporting the FC essentially they join with 0 intention of playing the objective and then complain the loudest when you lose the game. These players are a dime a dozen in WSG and quite frankly that is the reason I hate playing a healer nowadays not only that things like CoT are extremely annoying and most druids/mages don’t seem to know how to decurse in PuGs you often get very little support or peels as a Healer in all honesty it’s a cess pit and I can see why there is such a lack of healers queuing to be part of the “fun”.

I’d much rather have a Ret on my team who will throw the FC BoF or even an off heal than a MoM Warrior who spends his entire time fighting in the middle even when the game is deadlock with both FC’s making it back to base.

Either way I’ve healed a bunch in Classic and still enjoy doing it with friends but I’ll be queuing as Ret when I play solo and I can bet a lot of Ret Paladins and Shadow Priests who queue have similar reasons.

True.Warrior without fap in bgs=more useless then ret paladin

Healers?
Alliance?

What is this madness?

Alliance don’t do healing, that is a Horde-only trait. Everyone knows this.

Fun story, back in Vanilla, we (Horde) said exactly the same about Alliance. Go into a BG, yeah 4 shamans…3 of them would be Enhancer (probably listening to the background music of Unbreakables Video 5 times a day), and 1 Elemental.

Meanwhile, Alliance would have 2 Heal Pallys, a very competent priest, and enough Druids to re-forest the Sahara Desert.

These topics are as old as the game itself.

It’s been this way every expansion I have played.

Play in a group if you want objective gameplay.

No seriously… what? i Have played till rank 8, and i kid you not, in my battlegorup( gandling wnd whatever else is in there)i have faced only once an alliance team with no healers.

EVERY OTHER TEAM had at the bare MINIMUM 2 healers, 3 if AB. and no it aint a premade.

Druid, pallys, priests healers EVERYWHERE. the Horde? you lucky if ya get one. shamans are all ele or ena, priests are 50/50, druids dont exist or when they do they heal a bit.

Alliance on the other hand as atleast 2 pallys of wich one is 99% healer, one or two druids resto and a priest at least. sometimes 3 pallys in like AB .
What kind of bgs have you joined, cause men i wanna be in those if horde got healers.

not to mention the warriors with full t2.5 and MOM with pocket healers, got plenty of those each bg…

I even had WSG’s with 1 healer Horde versus 6 healers ally. SIX HEALERS.
ofc we won those, with like 10 hk vs 50 but we still won those.

Seems we have different experiences  I’m also on Gandling on my Paladin.

The team comps I normally face in WSG is something like Horde 90% of the time having 2-3 healing priests, 2+ Elemental shamans (who also off heal) and a sweaty FC druid. Sometimes it’s a lot of Warriors stacked with WF totem in the middle other times it’s less Warriors and more Mage/Locks who are all PvP specced and all well geared (AQ40+)

Same in AB only MORE Elemental Shamans.

Seeing a Priest on Alliance is like spotting a leprechaun rubbing his pot of gold and even if you do get them they are usually shadow. Paladins I guess you see more of but more often than not ret.

My usual team comp in WSG is usually something like 5-6 Warriors (1-2 AQ40+ geared the rest in greens/blues and half of them dual wielding), 2-3 Rogues (all in blues/R10 gear) and the odd Hunter/Mage/Lock thrown in. If I get a Druid he’s often feral, in blues and wants to go kitty kat in mid or he’s resto with poor gear, often dies in a single stun. Fun fact Alliance Druids are actually allergic to the Warsong flag - I believe it’s something to do with the fabric.

I’m not saying I don’t sometimes get in games like you mentioned but more often than not it’s like I said above.

Also it seems strange but I very rarely see a badly geared Elemental Shaman I see a few Enchancement from time to time running around with the AV Mace but it seems every Ele Shaman that joins is AQ40+ geared.

Yeah but that was back in 2005. There have been many, many, many, many, many, many, many changes since those halcyon salad days of yesteryear.

Back then, when men were real men, women were real women, and Brain Eating Ghouls were real Brain Eating Ghouls nobody had a clue that Horde racials are 100,000,000,000 times more powerful than Alliance racials, and hordes of ignorant, clueless noobs rolled Alliance for looks, blind to the consequences of being outclassed to the degree of Rick Moranis fighting Mike Tyson. Playing Alliance was like puttering around on a child’s tricycle with two wheels and a flat tyre, whilst Horde was like driving a Ferrari F50 with a rocket engine strapped to the back.

Consequently more enlightened players of 2019 all rolled Horde, to enjoy the kind of God-like, planet-destroying damage output that made the Death Star’s superlaser look like a pea shooter, whilst the last few remaining clueless noobs tried unsuccessfully to punch their way out of a wet tissue paper bag as Alliance.

So, given that Horde are effectively immortal Gods, why would they need healers?

Is it just a case of rubbing our noses in our own superiority? Or is there a deeper mystery?

imagine playing a ret paladin.

its like yes im willing playing a bad spec because lore fantasy reason

In PuG’s it’s more about the player than the spec. When I play Ret I will BoF Rogues/Warriors, off heal melee and BoP Healers/caster DPS or Melee who are being trained.

Even as Ret I offer more to the team than the mid zerging Warrior who’s tunnel visioning those HK’s and won’t play the objective. Funnily enough though Ret’s are called out more than any other class when a Warrior joins as Fury/Prot or you get a combat specced Rogue literally no one blinks an eye or says a thing.

Ret isn’t that bad either to be fair, in PvE the damage is lacking but they are more than capable of great burst in PvP it just takes some RNG. I know I’ve rek bombed Druid FC’s before who will be looking at the combat log to find out how they just had the majority of their health pool deleted.

Ret paladin is not a bad spec in pvp, it’s just a meme spec in raids because of the low dps. Raids are just too one-dimensional, the only thing that matters is dps.
There are just a lot of bad Ret paladins around who create the bad reputation.
Ret paladins are still excellent supporters who can also deal good burst dmg.

no, some players can play bad spec and compensate it with skill.
anyway i really love holy pala pvp, no plans respecing

yes the skill of being 35th on the dps meter instead of 36th.

ret just sucks dude, if you arent playing holy in classic your actively handicapping yourself

But this is about PvP, not PvE.

Playing my ele sham I frequently get QQ on horde side too. Even as im utterly destroying (most games for me  ). So while sitting at like 75+ to 0 in ab or 100++ -0 in av; there is always some melee QQ whispers. Crying about lack of heals or wf totems.

I sometimes try to explain how im actually playing my spec optimally to mister -11 negative k/d. But why I dont waste mana to make his suicide runs possible or why I constantly spam grounding totems -it all falls on death ears.

It just doesnt matter to them.
In their mind a shaman is only supposed to be the support, (while in actuality it is the warrior who plays the support role in bgs).

The warriors role is to buffer, essentially to preform operation human shield.
Wear more or less fullon stam gear-> hammstring spam the opponents melee. Occasionally charge in and fearbomb. Put ms on killtargets (not really that much of a thing anymore; even with 10+ healers on the other side; no target will stay up for long in phase 6).

Now you could stack on full support to a bis geared warrior and he would do mediocre, and obviusly if you are so unfortunate to have a very melee heavy side you do have swap it up abit and play the support role.
Still any geared caster with 0 support would easily outpreform in value both a warrior and the 2-4 people designated to carry him.

Its just how it is, damage is too high, rough for melee in a meta where the ranged dumbster everything so quickly.

What (good?) looks, are you talking about?

I played few games, outside premades. Alliance had more healers. At least that’s what I remember. It’s been a year.
Fact is, that most players in BGs, are either clueless or selfish. I stopped playing Vanilla, out of frustration in BGs. Nobody report, defend or care.

I’m sorry but the Horde are ugly, all of them, whereas the Alliance are attractive.

You know this.
