i am usually playing all healers and tend to do so before at least in +20 keys (old system).
The reason why rshaman is so good is because they have 3 major healing cds and because healing stream totem is now so good. Also they have 2 def cds.
if i switch to my holy priest i cannot keep up with major frequent dmg events and often just fall over because hpriest doesnt have any cd.
interrupt is also huge for pugs which priest doesnt have.
all other healers are actuall not much worse than rshaman.
mist weaver has not a hard time to heal the dmg events, but is melee which is not great atm.
decurse is certainly good in pugs because dds are awful and never use it.
for me currently all healers are decent for mid keys. holy priest and prevoker are the exception. prevoker was always garbage and will always be garbage with pugs because or range and cone healing. holy priest will remain garbage till a rework happens
Very often i look for Rsham just because of lust since the grp is missing it, honestly blizzard giving lust abillity to all healers would make it so much better for M+, I honestly dont care what spec is the healer since i dont push .1% keys
Prot pala main, also evoker is literally the least played healer (at least for M+) there are 2 evokers in top 200 healers. Me personally i barely get any pres evokers signing for my keys, i agree its not healer-specialty hence it doesn’t make sense some healers have it others don’t
I dont like BR on healers because they often sacrifice their life for a dumbo dps.
it is against the nature of healers to let someone die, so often as consequence they die.
sometimes still happens to me that i die because i saved someone else even though i should let that one die.
imho all healers should have ankh, but ankh should bring you back with 80% hp
Maybe not the best healer, but the one with the most utility.
Aoe stunning a pack is worth more than a heal. Aoe knockup on a pack, again worth more than a heal in high keys. Short CD interupt means i can interupt damage easy.
Ank for those moments you mess up, gives you a chance to fix it.
Not few times ive been to busy healing party and forget myself, only to die. But then ank saves the day as only i died. Making shaman more forgiving for those mistakes.
I have two defensives that are very strong. I have Spirit link totem, i have poison clense totem.
Tell me again why you pick a resto drood over me? Resto druid brings very little to the table compared to a resto shaman.
Only “issues” Rshamans have atm is they can run low on mana if you tax them too hard. But with good management and the occasional sneak drink between packs you are usualy fine.
it would mainly be:
-damage
-mark of the wild
-BR
-external DR
rdruids are good for different groups.
They feel not great to play in pugs for the most part but in good groups they can pump. But not enough group DRs to take over disc
I can write a whole page full of utility per healer and it sounds OP. But sure, now the stun of the shaman is OP. The knockup is not a stun. The survivability with Ank which you can not even use every dungeon because it is on cooldown. Imagine pressing bubble and laugh when you corner yourself, on a 3.5 minute cooldown (without a 15 second penalty). But ank is OP.
The moment prot pala got OP the first to sac was instant the resto shaman because there’s a better healer. Being a better healer is quite important. 2nd always comes utility.
You can probably find 1 spot in the whole dungeon pool where that totem is more usefull than a normal poison dispell. GG.
Hmm, i remember we having an affix weeks ago… Where i could just poison clense and totaly ignore the affix…
Where normal healers have to dispel one and one. Ofc the next week poison clense got CD increased to a more reasonable level. 2 min cooldown sounds much more fair on such a powerful ability. Could even be 3min.
In high keys utility comes first. Party wont need healing if you keep pack knocked up/stunned. Avoid damage is way more efficient than actually healing in high keys.
And keeping packs incapacitated is so strong. Chaining CC means pack never get a chance to do dmg to your group.
End up doing less healing in a proper 10, than some random +4. Simply cause the people chain CC, and avoid stuff they should avoid.
Everyone can dispell it and it is easy healable off too. It isn’t on the healer. And obviously on higher keys this affix does not exist anyway. And for real; this affix is there every… 5-6 weeks? How about the weeks without the affix? PCT is less OP then you try to make it. You really prefer 95% of the time a normal poison dispell over PCT.
On higher keys currently they sacked the resto shaman and took the better healer.
And again; the mobs cast too when they are knocked up. They arent stunned.
rshaman and dpriest are very good because rhey can burst heal quite well.
when i play my mistweaver in cot, the last boss is quite the struggle to heal up everyone to full in like 2s till the next big aoe comes.
rshamn is just currently good because it fits the dungeon patterns very well this season. the kit is really not any more or less special than other healers.
The tank external, the shaman has in form of spirit link. Which protects all party who stand inside it too. Poison and curse, shaman does too. Only better.
Vortex, the shaman has a form off too. And an aoe stun. Shaman has good defensives aswell, 40% dmg reduction and stone bulkwark totem.
Druid works, dont get me wrong. But you are playing on a harder mode than resto shaman that is for sure.
Battle res is the only big advantage.
Ramping up healing on druid takes longer than an shaman. If you are very experienced and know mechanics and preheal. Then druid works way better. But if you are newer and reactive instead of preventive. Then resto shaman works much easier with current damage in dungeons. Even in raids to some degree. Where the shaman snipes healing before anyone else can do much.
3 minutes versus 1.5 minute cooldown, 10% (or with the talent 15%) versus 20% DR and 6 seconds versus 12 seconds active. I am very sure the druid wins on tank externals.
In 99% of the cases you prefer a baseline poison dispell over the shaman totem that dispells every ‘second’ a player. The totem isnt even a fast mass dispell. There’s 1 usage in the whole dungeonpool for this totem.
Druids Roar is doing ‘the same’ as the shamans knock-up.
