Healing classes in classic (vanilla, era)

Hey there! Getting the fresh hype here and planning my next character for when I undoubtedly return at some point.

Played classic wow in 2019 as a resto druid (hotw/ns) and had a blast! Love the druid class. However, I felt really bad sometimes healing. I remember playing end game instances like Strat Undead and having a hard time keeping up with the healing required. For raids it was easier since I didn’t have sole responsibility for keeping tanks alive.

I will probably mostly heal dungeons when I return.

Is priest, shaman or pally way better if I wanna concentrate on healing?
Which class would you choose and why?

The right answer will be to pick the one you enjoy most. Also there is alot more to a class then just healing dungeon endgame (The leveling journey by example).
That being said, Druid is probably the weakest healer. However they are viable and will always get a spot for there utility (innervate, combat ress and buff). Also in 5 mans they can be pretty good tanks aswell so they are probably the most versatile.

Short answer without taking anything in account: Paladin on alliance, Priest on horde. However you probably will have more fun as a Shaman.

thats the thing in vanilla. if you aren’t one out of an exclusive list of classes (mage, priest, pala, warr) you don’t get the flashy job where everyone knows youre pumping. other classes can be useful but not in a way that other people can easily see it. druid is one of those few classes that are in the 1st camp.

the choice isn’t so much between the healing classes for u. the real choice is horde or alliance. palas are much more ‘flashy’ than shamans and imo they dilute the potency of priests because lets face it they’re the best healers in classic. despite this everyone will love you if you’re a shaman because of windfury and classic is all about that speedrun pump. with that being said if you do decide to go pala just keep in mind you wont have the luxury of switching to a good dps spec outside of instanced/group content.

imo players will love a good paladin in pvp more than a good shammy but we aren’t talking about pvp so…

Seems like you enjoyed druid, stick with it, great choice and very flexible class.

This only happens with undergeared groups and fresh 60s with a Tank doing bigger pulls the group can handle. Of course they will put all the pressure and blame on the healer. As soon you notice this behavior, leave the group. You deserve better than randoms like this.
