Not only did they “muse about the spirit of classic”. They even went so far to, in the same sentense say that “we listen to the community” and “therefor there will be no RDF in wotlk”.
This is a change I can get on board with, they add nothing of value and remove low level gearing progression. Also serve to make the new player experience pure torture in PVP as they play against heirloom geared low level gods that one shot them left and right.
LFD should be in the game though, I can understand not having it at launch but afterwards they need to just put it in the game, it would be heavily used and appreciated.
They add more level 80 characters, which is pretty good for the game. They’re also nowhere near strong enough to make you god tier compared to characters without heirlooms, outside of maybe when you get a crusader proc at single digit levels.
What? You’re not serious right? I used to 1shot my way through BG’s in WOTLK with Heirlooms all the time. You roll up against noobs with empty gear slots, whites and greens with a full godly gearset that you also probably enchante because why wouldn’t you?
I would queue up Warrior + Paladin with my friend and we would proceed to win every, single BG while we decimated noobs in like 2 hits, we could win 2 vs 6 against non heirloom players.
Levelling is fun, and The reason I play WoW. I have raised, and hopefully will raise, many alts to max - slowly and via questing. I never ever bougth an heirloom.
That said I do not do any 5 man either.
And I seriously do not understand how people can’t see that the charm in Classic WoW is that it is not one thing. My fun is your chores, your fun is my chores. People wnat differnt things. Only mostly people playing like I do are very quiet about it because if not, they’re called Clowns, Andys, Carebears, …
For too many years the Dungeoning/raiding majority have set the order of what was OK to like and what not. We have to stop fighting one another and instead figth whomever at Blizz that won’t listen and give us WoW as it was instead of their mashup.
I don’t play Retail. I never even bought SL. Cant go there. I dont LIKE retail, levelling there is not exciting, fun … well anything there. And the scaling zones and mouseover and golden arrows and Bling-maps and … just YUCK! You’re not elven allowed to think!
Try levelling a NE to level 10 in Classic Era, then do the same in Retail. Retil is a joke, it’s almost auto-play, you’re 'ported out of danger, you get a buff to jump down friom the tree so that you absolutely need not try for yourself to find the place where you actually can jump off. Levelling in Retali is a sad, sorry parody on what the experience can be!
I want levelling. Not tedious dungeons.
Can I please have better gear as Quest revards? (This last sentence may contain irony.)
Can we agree to disagree?
There’s many ways to play Classic WoW and one is not better than the other.
Let Classic be Classic! Let’s have freedom of choice and playstyles.
Actually Yes it is. I WANT to level slowly - each time. So If I figth for your rigth to use said Heirlooms, will you also figth for my rigth to not use them?
Freedom goes both ways.
I would be very careful to be against Heirlooms. If they’re not there, people will soon be clamouring for something like the XP buff of SoM - and those could not be removed. Aka they were forced upon us.
No but I think it’s a healthier choice to allow people to level their alts faster without feeding gold to a handful players boosting them in dungeons. I don’t really see any need to change what wasn’t broken in the first place.
Nobody forces you to use heirlooms anymore than to be boosted by other players.
I honestly think many (not all ofc) people would choose buying hairlooms and queing for low lvl dungeons in RDF over paying for an afk boost, if given the choice, yes.
