Heroic leavers need to be punished more

It is really frustrating. Whenever I run Heroics at the start of the instance I can tell after which boss people will leave.

  • Stonecore Hunter after Boss 1 ( Trinket)
  • Deadmines Hunter after Ripsnarl ( 2H Axe), Rogues after Boss 1 (Chest) and Casters after Cookie (Wand)
  • Halls of Origination Rouges if you pull dont pull fireboss last (Trinket)

There are more but those are the worst from the top of my head.

It doesn’t even matter if drops or not. They cant even be bothered to help the group finish after getting their BiS item.
If they dont need a different item they dont care about not being able to Q again for 30 minutes.
Their replacements then join the dungeon and are instantly disappointed since the boss they need is already dead.

I had groups with 3 people leaving after the first boss. At that point I dont even bother refilling and just take the Q lock and leave myself.

I dont know how to really solve this. Maybe have a specific Heroic unlock only if you actually killed the last boss. Maybe offer a certain reward for finishing.

For now I will need the Items they need and if I win only trade them after the dungeon is over. Players have no incentive to actually finish a dungeon right now so this “optimal” gameplay. When optimal gameplay is grieving for the rest of the playerbase a blizzard intervention might be needed.

And before anyone asks, no wipes, fast pulls, just grinding rep atm on my 3rd tank.

Shadowfang 1st boss too.

Add some bad luck protection for dungeon loot, perhaps. Something similar to Scourgestones in WotLK.

Like make every boss drop an item that can be used to purchase the items that never drop.

The gearing for some classes is quite awkward. Like caster/healing druids only have 1 bracer option from 2nd boss in BrC. For some reason Blizzard seemingly made them have like 0.1% droprate. I’m soon at 20 kills and have never seem them. There’s literally no logical option to these either. And they are also 2nd BiS for the entire phase since there’s also just 1 from raids.

If you’re unlucky and get 20+ kills without loot, a vendor with bad luck tokens could somewhat solve this I guess.

why should they bother with that if they are there for specific drops and are valor capped.

also its a bonus for anyone who joins later as they can farm their valor faster.

win win .

simplest solution woudl be removal of valor cap. its speed up versioon of classic nayway and FL will release in like 3 months making most of things irrelevant

Should be in like 4.5 months from now. Somewhere in October that FL releases.

But I do not get why people complain on leavers, you get one within 2 minutes anyway.
And as said if you’re valor capped, you got other stuff to do, goin for that one boss & leaving is a valid strat.

Not many people play Wow for 10 hours & got limited time to prioritise stuff.

You certainly win cnt of the day in my book;O

Why ?

It’s not like the entire run just ends because a guy leaves.
Hell you can clear it with 4 people anyway.

Imagine a community where leaving a dungeon just because you loot didnt drop becomes acceptable. You queue up for the whole dungeon, not just one boss.

Yep, if you’re unlucky your only options for that slot are random scraps you picked up while leveling or PvP gear.

You should take everything that guy says with a pinch of salt. He also thinks it’s totally reasonable to need on every single gear piece that drops because you can vendor it for gold. And everyone needs gold, you know?

Pvp bracers r even worst kinda since they give only resilience but thinking to buy anyway and loose crit-haste from this one I have now.
I even had bad luck with sholders from Vortex, take a while to get it but wrist just dont want to drop.

its totaly acceptable.

and people who join usualy are happy because it means they can get their valor faster.

unless they were after exactly the same item as person who left

bbut then they wouldnt que for random only specific dungeon .

Berny also leaves after first boss.

Well pretty simple just give them a loot lockout from dungeons 1 hour after leaving it

These answers show excatly what I said in the OP
Players have no incentive to actually finish a dungeon right now so this “optimal” gameplay.

The real problem is the clash from:
“Inteded gamedesign” - find a random group and finish a dungeon together (thats whey there is a Q lockout for leavers)
&
“Optimal gameplay” - only stay as long as you personally have a benefit from doing so.
This clash just creates a clash with the expectation from 1 group to the other.

And to those saying leavers make no difference, just start q etc.
It takes the flow out of the game. Any sort of momentum you have comes to an abrupt halt and is a waste of everyones time until new people are found, zoned in and ready.

and people who join usualy are happy because it means they can get their valor faster. - I have not had a single person so far be happy about joining an in progress dungeon. Usually I only find people frustrated for having missed at least one boss.

Honorable mention: arms warriors leaving after ozruk in Stonecore(yes i leave after ozruk too)

Who can blame them, though?

  1. No respect for armor types nor stats, hence people will yank whatever gear and trinket is available
  2. No limit on who can need on orbs
  3. No challenge with the current tuning of the dungeons

I agree, actually. Increase the debuff time to 1 hour, and make it increase 1 extra hour every time you afk in a day. This will remain until the following day where it will start to decrease 1 hour at a time.

who cares if 1 dps leave, you literally find a replacement in a sec

i would agree with punishing leavers but in mean time punish a group if they kick someone for no reason i have found gehannas server is so toxic for this
