The same person who came up with no RDF?
“We’re gonna make it easier to gear up alts, but not give the tools to do so.”
Ok, what is the alternativ then? Absolutly useless dungeons for 2 years? No thanks.
You know they solved this in WotLK right?
Wait, so we get M+(effectively) but not RDF?
Lol.
This is the correct interpretation.
And they kill off old 10 man raids which were a fun thing to do with alts on a saturday night while doing so.
and stuff.
Well in original WOTLK, my experience in 5 man heroics went something like this:
-Hit 80, realize they are ridiculously easy, plough through them and gear up.
-Come back a few weeks later, and go for the Glory of the Hero meta, great fun, some hard ones there, once I got the Red Proto Drake, I was done with them.
-1 year later, apparently I am not done with them, as I now need a silly amount of Emblems of Triumph, and the only way to get those is to run ToC 4 times a week, and complete the daily heroic. So in I go to Gundrak for the 57th time, if it was ridiculously easy the first time with no gear, it’s nothing but a complete aoe button smashing snoozefest with raid gear two raids in, and a complete waste of time.
-Just when I thought I was done, the daily heroic now gives Emblems of Frost, so back into the faceroll zergfest heroics I go, two years later.
I have said for months that having the daily heroic tied to some form of hard, actually challenging mode, which survives the longevity of the expansion is the way to go.
this is what the kids call a epic fail
Sounds exactly like what the anti RDF crowd has been screaming for so I’m assuming they’re all gleefully happy right now.
Very interesting, WotLK has been deemed end of the classic trilogy anyway so I’m happy they’re experimenting about what to possibly do in the future.
How they change the heroics remains to be seen but honestly anything’s better than leaving them as hack-and-slash badge farms.
Not really, we now have the chances for double the loot with double the effort. Do the heroics and 10 mans.
Another retail feature, which original wotlk feature will they remove in return? Wrath of the Reforgers.
That’s not how math works.
You have 8 chances of getting the item from 10 man you want every week.
1 of those are from the 10 man. That is, assuming they even keep the 10 man raids open.
Actually they’re killing the 25 man ones by putting their gear in 10 mans
Oh hell, you’re right, I glazed over that part.
Familiarity my rear end as a design pillar, lmao.
8? We don’t know yet what 10man items drop from which dungeons.
Why wouldn’t they? That’s a pretty silly doom-and-gloom presumption.
See above, we do know, we’re just too fast readers.
10 mans will drop the 25 man loot.
So the question becomes, are they killing off 25 mans?
Doesn’t matter btw, you can still do every heroic once per day so you’ll at least have 7 chances of your item per week compared to 1.
LFM PIT OF SARON HC+++ PALLY TANK PALLY HEAL 3x PALLY DPS (ALL LOOR HR + GREENS + LINEN CLOTH) 20g JOIN FEE
Actually a great addition!!
I am kinda in favor of this thing. It sounds interesting enough.
But please, can you no longer call it classic ?
It is more and more misleading to call it that.
I see I’m not the only one who had the thought that they’re going to move the 10 man loot randomly into heroics based on what classes are doing it, or as it’s known in retail, personal loot.
