Hey blizz, i know how to fix your game (honestly i do)

Going to a party, but dont want to drink.

What do you do?
You dont drink. Same logic.

Or do you rather make everyone stop drinking by removing all the booze?

Does this mean we can comfortably add xmog, barbershop, pet battles, LFD etc to Classic? After all, if you don’t like them you can just not use them

Was it part of Vanilla?
Which Classic is a representation of?

Well, just don’t use them - I mean, as long as you don’t use them, it doesn’t affect your game right?

Were the things you mention a part of the Original version of WoW?
Which Classic is a representation of.

Tbf, the whole wbuff meta wasn’t part of the Original version of WoW, and neither were a lot other things that actually are in Classic. So if that’s your sole argument against them I kinda find it laughable.

Heck, warcraftlogs wasn’t part of the original version of WoW.

World Buffs were very much part of Vanilla WoW. To the extent we see now? No.
Then again, the community in Classic is bigger than it ever was during Vanila, so it’s safe to say we are more able to pop Wbuffs to a greater degree. This is something we as the community have chosen to do, for whatever reason.

But to stay a bit on the topic you replied to: We are talking about removing a core part of the game, not adding. With that being said I dont know what you find so laughable. Beacuse my opinion about World buffs, which were a core part of the game and many guilds relied upon them to clear content, wether that was MC, BWL, ZG, AQ20/40 or Naxx still stand.
And if you absolutely hate them, then don’t use them as they are less important in the bigger picture to the way we play the game now compared to back then.

For some guilds this might not be true, not everyone is on equal level of skill and/or dedication compared to the more hardcore playerbase.

And before you start chopping up my statement about world buffs back in vanilla, all I can say:

Dude, I too played back then, the guild I was in it was mandatory to come fully buffed, pots and all to each raid. Was this the “meta”? I dont think so, but World buffs were mostly mandatory. So to say anything else, THAT is laughable.

The fact that wasn’t “meta” is the key word, here. Back then wbuffs did exist, and yes some guilds did collect them. But their impact on the gameplay at large was extremely limited. It was incredibly easy to find a guild that raided even top content but didn’t require them (or “soft require” them by giving loot prio to those who got them). You can find plenty of videos of people fighting Naxx bosses (let alone bosses from previous raids) with no wbuffs at all - or at most 1 or 2 of them. Certainly not a full list of ZG + Rallying Cry + Songflower + DM buffs + Warchief Blessing.

Simply saying “don’t use them” completely disregards the massive impact these wbuffs have on the game even if you elect not to use them. And mind you, I’m not asking to see them removed, but they’re definitely part of what makes Vanilla by far the worst of the “original trilogy” of Vanilla/TBC/WotLK, and I won’t miss them once we move on from this.
