Some exclusivity is good for the game but some stuff like TCG mounts can be shared and they’re already doing it with prime/Twitch drops.

Why does anyone even want the Scarab Lord title? It’s a meaningless and not very interesting title. It’s little better than “Beetle Master”.
As for the mount, it’s an old model ground mount which everyone has red and blue and yellow versions of (even if only usable in raid).

I usually favor bringing back old and unobtainable things.

But the Scarab Lord is a step too far. It was a one of a kind, server-wide unique title and mount. Not a drop, not something that you could buy in a booster, just a long server effort that resulted in only one player getting it.

It’s kind of similar to the realm first kills titles (Conqueror of Naxxramas, Magic Seeker, etc.). Just leave them be.

If you want to use a qiraji mount, there’s maybe the archeology one (idk if we can still get it).

I feel that there’s an argument for other unobtainable rewards (TCG, PvP or CM sets), but these one-of-a-kind titles should just be left as they are.

thanks for the kind explanation , i can understand that scarab lord might be too much for some people , tho i still think giving it to a new person every year wouldn’t hurt anybody but won’t be pushing this anymore. i still think this game’s older rewards should be recycled somehow(in a way that won’t overshadow new ones) there are many locked items and it’s not fair to new players but also it’s just waste of data which keeps getting bigger and bigger.

That’s why they made the Classic servers. So players have the opportunity to relive the game and earn the rewards.

i get why you keep saying this but you can’t transfer rewards to retail which is the main wow game for me so it’s pointless , i also play on wotlk classic but like i said, retail is my thing.

When it comes to transmogs and stuff. Giving new players a new chance to achieve them. I agree… But the Scarab lord was a huge server wide thing.

There is allot of value in effort. And the Scarab lord title was awarded to only 4 people on an entire server at most. The entire server had to contribute to the war effort.

And only the players who had completed the quest line. And got to ring the gong at the end of it all where awarded the title. So this titles value… comes with allot of prestige. That if we just let everybody just solo it today. Would loose it…

The Scarab lord title would just be some pretext to your name. With no prestige or value to having attained it.

But that’s the point. These rewards don’t need to be put back into Retail. Retail is in another place right now, and there are new challenges and items to collect.

That is the exact reason why they were made available again on Classic realms, so you can relive the experience, the challenge and collect the items.

the thing you don’t get is retail is a new game with old rewards that you can’t obtain, imagine playing diablo 4 and people had rewards from the first diablo ,that wouldn’t make any sense right ? i know they are not exactly the same but it’s an example to explain my point. it’s just not fun when you start playing a game which already has the bad title of ‘‘the most overwhelming mmo that people have been playing for 20 years’’ and see you will never be on the same level when it comes to cosmetics. older players paid more yes but they also had the first hand experience of legendary expansions so they got the value of their money imo.

I don’t think its a bad idea… I for one wouldn’t even be against it. But it would turn the Scarab lord title into a annual event. A tournament so to speak. It would take away the prestige from those who where there then… And can you imagine how toxic this annual event for a whole server would become? If only one or four people could earn the title today?

The entire server and their guilds. Working towards a yearly event. For this title.
It just wouldn’t be the same experience we all had when it arrived in classic.
You all would eat each other alive for the tittle.

When it all happened in classic it was the latest content. the latest patch. And thats why we where all into it. Today it would just be a farm grind pvp between guilds versus guilds. Only so that 4 or so people could attain the title.

I’d love to think we would all be good sports about it… But I doubt.

yes but we don’t even know those people still play , yes we’ve all seen some but no one knows how many of them are actually active players , doesn’t it make the title go for waste . the only thing i’d want them to keep as locked is wow’s launch event rewards if there were any . that’s what every game does.

Chaos… Youd make premade groups and just insta grind your war efforts today. We had none of that in the past. We didn’t have WoWhead who told us everything and where to go and what to do…

We had Thottbot xD And our addons and maps showed us nothing.

You new ones would turn this very hard effort to us back then. Into a casual farm to earn the same title… I hope you understand that? even if you werent there or can feel what I am talking about.

A new player isn’t going to be logging in for the first time and thinking to themselves “hmm, I really want this scarab lord title”, how do I get that.

If they are then that’s a huge failure in the new player experience system set up by Blizzard.

No, a new player is going to come in, in level up. Start exploring the Dragon Isles and unlocking those rewards. They might choose to dabble in some Dungeons or Normal Raids. they might go and farm Antorus or Tomb of Sargeres for some mog.

Time will move on, the game will progress and they’ll collect more and more things over time.

I personally disagree with this statement, but I do understand where you are coming from.

WoW is still very much the same game. However it is a game of Era’s, and there is nothing wrong with having unobtainable items from old era’s, to show that you were part of that history.

I think you should stop looking at WoW as a standalone game like Theme Hospital or something. WoW is an entire World that progresses through time, just like how the real world does. Events come and go over time, it’s about living that even through that is why this game is so spectacular.

As I have said before. Just stop worrying about the past of the game. It has gone. Look forward to the new events that are coming in the Future. Live the game.

like i said before mate, i’m not gonna pursue scarab lord even if they make it available to everyone, i’m just here to defend new players’ experience, about your suggestion yes i will but those locked mage tower cosmetics are the ones that i like the most and i think the best ones in the game with many other people agreeing with me so blizzard either should give better looking rewards now or let us to obtain old ones . this is not just about scarab lord it’s a bigger problem

But why are they even worrying about old rewards? The new player experience doesn’t rub any removed items in your face. It merely guides you into the games end game and encourages you to participate in the challenges and collect the rewards in the current game.
