On one hand, all the people screeching for HElves to have weird celtic themes based on a tiny bit of face paint in WC2 and Alleria are getting dunked.

I’m obv. talking about Argent Dawn. Not all Blood Elves will go, sure, but it’s crazy to think the demographics aren’t going to suffer and make an already difficult situation for Horde on AD even worse.

From my (anecdotal) experience in a bunch of guilds, most belf gamers wish they could be helves on the good guy faction. A good deal of raiders on this server RP at the same time, and basic mechanical optimal play doesn’t make up all of their decisions.

ye I’m not sure where they got the notion that “A single blob of blue facepaint” = Suddenly an entire subrace of elves are full pagan celtic knock offs (pls ignore all the HElves that are not anything like that)

I think the OOC playerbase will indeed die a bit, but as far as rp goes, if u want thalassian rp, then u wont really get that in the alliance, u will simply get human with long ears rp

im thinking, if a player wanted to rp thalassian culture etc they’d likely want to keep their forest and city, so would play belf. Of course many are gonna switch to helf because they now CAN and they would want to, which will cause over representation issues, but honestly, its aight

It presents a bit of a dilemma for me. I love Blood Elves and I definitely prefer their narrative to that of the High Elves but I’m an Alliance player, so the idea of being able to portray a broadly similar character - without the trappings of void corruption - on my chosen faction is very appealing.
