Telogrus have some nice Silvermoon Scholars and High Elf Wayfarers and they not only work/study with the Ren’dorei but with each other…
More so, High Elf Wayfarers when spoken to, can say one of these sentences:
“We need no longer fear exile for the pursuit of knowledge.”
“A path long denied to us is open at last.”
Interestingly enough, they shares this dialogue with Silvermoon Scholar.
Elves are not a hive mind, even if the majority would dislike void elves, that does not mean all of them will, each race is filled with individuals, with their own set of morals.
some high elves might be willing to return to silvermoon as citizens, some might even be willing to fight for the horde because they agree with the blood elf political view.
and some (from both factions) are willing to risk it all to learn the dark powers of the void, for whatever reason they may have.
The Alliance hasn’t always been tolerant of High Elves since the start if wow either. The old Guns of Northwatch quest had a high elf ship attacked by the humans of Northwatch, the captain rants about their zealotry and has you kill them and destroy their cannons.
The NPC placement in Stormwind shows quite the contrary. Once you unlock VEs, you can see couples of helf+velf walking around the Mage Quarter quite frequently. My headcanon would be that they got along because of the faction loyalties that differ both of them from the blood elves?
I’d be more inclined to play a void elf if their existence wasn’t so niche. It’s the fact they entirely stem from one single group of blood elves, and one single incident that occurred to said group. The fact being a void elf isn’t as simple as an elf being exposed to void, but that one must be a follower of Umbric that was at the specific incident where a dying Void creature cursed their race. It makes character backstories and concepts incredibly limiting; like I said, I wanted to make Drowon a void elf, but then it became apparent there’s only one way to become a void elf and I’d missed the event. I genuinely don’t mind the race being buried under the large amount of upcoming high elves.
In Telogrus Rift there are a bunch of high elves and blood elves learning from the void elves. While I don’t think there’s any instance of it being outright confirmed, there is a chance that they might eventually become void elves.
Particularly since you don’t see any high/blood elves among the ren’dorei forces.
It’d be working on a logical assumption, but it’s still an assumption at the end of the day.
Guys if you think about it Void elfs are not even a race there more a Class like becoming a Demon hunter, belf/helfs off to learn about becoming a Void elf.
Whats to stop any other race going off to do the same, no idea why I am finding this funny need to stop drinking ha.
As I said, elves are individuals some will hate them, you might even say most of them, but not all.
However if those who hate them or those who like them are deviants in high elf society remains to be seen.
