High Elf RP on Argent Dawn?

I just can’t wait for some blood elf to pick blue eyes and walk around in Orgrimmar arguing it’s fine since it’s an option in game now while God emoting their way out of any conflict as people start raising their eyebrows at then. :grimacing:

I will pick my blood elf a blue eyes because sunwell was purified like 14 years ago and she is back to having her original eye color. Can I raise eyebrow on eyebrow raisers?

Well it obviously is fine, blood elves will be able to have blue eyes, probably as a result of the fel taint being gone

(posted on wrong old char)

As of today, 28th of May 2020, there is nothing but hadcanon to support this claim.

And that’s why we have the yellow eyes

And in SL they will be able to have blue as well as yellow

No, that’s why we should have had all the eyes long ago. I see no point of limiting ourselves of customization options just because some doesn’t know the lore?

You know I’m all for this, especially from the point of view of a roleplayer. Just let the players go wild with what they want their character to look like, then making the story to back it up. There’ll be the bad ones that make thing awkward no matter the choices but I think variety is always a good thing.

The fact that we disagree on this is enough for me to say that Blizzard should do a better job with worldbuilding.

Agreed. It’s not the options that are the problem, it’s the people using them wrong.

The Sunwell is Light and arcane. There are blue eyed blood elves already. As there are also green eyed high elves in lore.
A blood elf having blue eyes in Orgrimmar shouldn’t raise many eyebrows.

Except that color of elf´s eyes changes based on what magic influences them the most, which is shown with high elves having blue eye color (Arcane), until they became influenced by Fel (green eye color) and then Light (golden eye color).

Also, I´d say it´s far bigger headcanon to assume blood elves with blue eyes would be seen as Alliance high elves. We know how elven biology works, elves know that too and there have been blood elven NPCs with blue eye color and also high elves who had green eyes.

Bear in mind back in the day, someone asked Kosak about this and he tweeted that it was a bug/mistake and to ignore it.

Someone recently asked Danuser and he went off about how this was an important character (???) And he’d like to explore them some day.

Devs say a lot of things that simply aren’t right. “These are NPC only” for instance.

I don’t know, i view it as the new guard pooping over the old guard. As happens when management changes, the bright new ideas are always better than the old and functional.

I very much doubt that was what Blizzard was intending. I’ll be picking the option because the stouter, wider ears suit a more militant character imo (easier to helmet, etc). It doesn’t imply my character is in any way of human heritage, nor does it make much sense that ears would be the last thing to properly develop on a race.

Speaking of child models, the pandaren child has one extra toe when compared to the adults.

Honestly, I don’t get the whole “are they then half-elves” debacle. Half-elves as far as we know look either like pretty humans or like slightly more… Coarse… Elves. That’s all we know. There’s neither mention nor depiction of special ears.

Since this is given to the elves, pureblood as they are, alongside EVEN LONGER ears, we can only assume one thing without entering headcanon territory. It’s just… Individual. Different people have different sized ears, like humans have differently sized and shaped ears, noses, jaws, hands, feet, etc.

As a tangent to this, as BElfs are Horde and ‘generally’ in close contact with the orcs, who are green skin which is also due to Fel taint, and as we know that not all green orcs drank the blood of Mannoroth, could a BElf still have green eyes due to proximity to the orcs? Probably a stupid/moot idea, but a point of intrigue for me.

I doubt that. Eye color of elves changes either based on magic they are being infused with or if there´s huge amount of certain type of magic present (similar to how orcs changed skin color on Draenor). It would require strong presence of Fel in elf´s surroundings to make them change eye color, not just proximity to someone similarly corrupted by Fel magic.

Guess I’ll have to change this hunters eye from green at some point then…

Or make them use fel :smiling_imp:
