How will that affect your game play?

It will make me sad. :disappointed:

You’ll get over it, and I really hope more unique blood elf options are added. At the same time, it will make a lot of people extremely happy, and is highly likely to bring players back to the game, who have wanted this for over a decade.

By the way, the blue hair colour for blood elves displayed in the original announcement, has it become available yet?

I don’t mind they add a few colors like White and black. Both of these make sense and it wouldn’t be too much. Black can be seen by some void elf NPC’s anyway. But asking for blonde and the whole colors is a bit much don’t you think? Especially since Blonde is very prominent with the Blood elves. That’s why I’m disagreeing with the whole hair colors thing, unless it’s a two Simple colors Like Vereesa’s white and black too.

Not at all.

And high elves, such as Vereesa (white/platinum blonde), as well as Alleria, both before and after her void influence.

You do realize EVERY race in wow will have blonde hair as of Shadowlands. Blonde and any natural hair colors aren’t locked only for Blood Elves. Alleria also has blonde hair don’t forget that. And at the moment void elves don’t have any diversity in their hair colors, all of them are pretty much the same. Adding natural hair colors (there’s after all a barbershop and hair dye exists in wow) would add diversity and their old heritage as High elves while also keeping their new Void heritage.

You do realize Void elves and Blood elves share the same skeleton, dance, faces, and skin colors. Adding hair color to that will make them identical which is what Blood elves are trying to argue here. Blood elves and High elves are already 90% identical. What makes them different is faction, politics, eye color, and slightly different cultures. That’s why borrowing some high elf hair color is just like borrowing blood elf hair colors.

We aren’t getting High elves. We are getting High elves who use the void and appear slightly natural. So basically More Natural looking Void elves. There is a difference.

As I’ve said, I do agree hair colors such as White and black could be added. But the other colors will just make them too identical.

Let’s let blizzard decide. Shadowlands haven’t even come and we haven’t seen the full customization yet for all of the races, so we should wait, and then have the discussion when we’ve seen everything. Otherwise it’s just gonna be arguments when we haven’t seen the full customizations yet.

I mean there are lots of people who want them and my idea was to give them those options to make those people happy. But also people can always come up with many new ideas what they like. And noo we are here arguing about high elf hair colors. and hair styles sorry I am just standing my ground. I hope I don’t get the wrong impression because I just want everyone to be happy. But again if you like something or you want something just say it.

I agree with you there but Let people just ask for what they want. I mean others can do to ^^.

People as if there’s anything else coming. What we saw is pretty much it. The options for every race is complete at this point

I think there will be more in the future.

What if you got over it instead. You know, be happy that you have void elves.

What if it will annoy more people? It would certainly annoy me.

Not if we get different hair styles. But honestly, high elves and blood elves are genetically identical.

Or vice versa. Adding blood elf hair colours is just adding high elf hair colours. What’s the problem?

Blizzard art director Ely Cannon disagrees:

Let’s. But let’s also make the point why it’s a good idea to allow player choice within an established and reasonable lore framework.

I’m quite happy with my void elves. And I’ll be even happier with high elves as well.

Mechagnomes annoy me. I find the entire concept both repulsive and disgusting. But hey. I just don’t play one, and focus on the stuff that actually affects me.

I’m tired of seeing this Alleria this and Alleria that. Well guys you arent Alleria. She’s an npc. Just like we demon hunters arent completely similar to Illidan you guys arent to Alleria so lets drop that argument. None of the blood elves have eyes like Lor’themar Theron so yeah surprise we players cannot look 100% like npcs in this game. I’d love to have the looks of Sylvanas but i know its not happening.

My point isn’t that I want to look like Alleria, or that all her options should be available. The thing is, that with the upcoming options, we see that it is possible to retain your skin tones while being a new generation of void elves, and Alleria proves that when the void doesn’t affect your skin, it also doesn’t have to affect your hair. That, combined with Ely Cannon’s statements about the high elf fantasy, makes withholding proper hair colours (not necessarily styles, though) meaningless.

But there are no high elves. I think you fellas got cocky after you figured that you can guilt Blizz into giving you stuff. Lemma shatter that illusion for you cause maybe you can’t see it but people are rather upset about it.

Why? Did Mechagnomes demand Blizzard turn them into normal gnomes?

Mechagnomes are amputees by choice. There’s a diagnosis for that disorder in the real world, and their existence as a game race is rather disturbing. I find that far more upsetting (if you want to use that word…) than the inclusion of a race that’s been around all along, just because of some entitlement to an illusion of uniqueness.

And I quote “a few High elf Customizations available” they added skin color and eye color so far, so that sounds like “a few” to me. They did not confirm any hair colors at all, which is probably what they meant by “a few”.

I didn’t ask about their background. I asked if people playing them want them turned into gnomes.

I see that, and my expectations are tentative, but without proper hair colours, “letting players choose where they want to align and what fantasy to play out” falls short.

You used the point that proper high elf options for the Alliance would annoy you as a valid argument against it being implemented. I used the point that there are things that annoy me, but that I choose to focus elsewhere, to neutralise your point. The joy it would bring to a LOT of players (high elves have consistently been the most requested Alliance race since before TBC) far outweighs your annoyance, especially seeing as I, and others, feel equally against other implemented races.
