High elves and blood elf Customization's

This is just on point! This is the essence of the entire debate, really.

It just doesn’t make sense (together with reds/gingers and browns). For elves, the one thing that’s most susceptible to be altered by magical energies is eye colours and glow. After that, we see that skin colours get affected. Hair colours don’t seem to change at all as effects of magic influence (arcane, fel, void, light, nature etc.).

And if the intention is giving Alliance players the high elf experience, it’s just not there without proper high elf hair (without void tendrils).

We don’t have a right. We’re costumers, and this is a product we want to buy. Blizzard is under no obligation to provide that product. But it might be smart of them to do so, from a business point of view. Saying we have rights to certain features, though, makes us come off as unrealistically entitled.

That and insisting high elf fans must be happy before any work on other allied races can be done. I mean I don’t even disagree with the things being proposed per se but like, there are other things that need attention too. And the whole framing of “we have to work together to get the things that we want” when it’s clearly just “what I want comes before everything else” seems rather dishonest.

Just post about the stuff you want added and go…

woah there, I didn’t suggest anything to the contrary

Aha Listenn I really want both high elf and blood elf fans to get both things they wanted oter wise I would have only set High elf in the thread name. And what is wrong that High elf fans get some costums? We asked for them about 15 years now.

I thought you were trying to say she isn’t a void elf just because she Isn’t blue and purple looking like the rest. Obv she became a void elf by training with Locus Walker, while the rest were almost transformed into void beings but that was stopped halfway through by Alleria. Alleria became a void elf in the real and actual way, the rest had no plans to become infused with the void,it was just an accident.

also alleria ate L’ura xD

And she still looks like a high elf. So I cant see why the new generation of Void elves cant look like High elves. With normal Hair colors.

Cause they would imitate an existing race too much. How many times do you need to be told this?

when are we getting undead blood elfs (dark rangers) ?

Somewhere in the future I hope.

Probably never.
Hopefully never.

Dark Ranger is not just a race, it is an entire class.

I mean Costum options can work.

What new generation of Void Elves? How would that even work? Only one person knew what was happening to the Void Elves and that was the Ethereal Durzaan, who is now very very dead. It wasn’t even his Intention! It happened as an accident after his ritual was disrupted.

Nobody knows how it happened, not Alleria, not Umbric, no one. Before anyone goes But Alleria… But Alleria what? Where are these teeming hordes of Dark Naaru that would be needed for new recruits to the Void Elves to drain so they can be like her? I mean there are no Naaru on Azeroth, and even if you went to Shattrath city and started showing A’dal and his mates dirty pictures from a grumble mag in order to corrupt them, thats only what, four more potential Void Elves?

People keep going on about “But there are High Elves on Telogrus Rift studying the Void. They’re clearly trying to become Void Elves”

No. No, Bad, naughty, spit the idea out and leave it alone!

Studying implies you know facts. You can’t know facts when the only source of the facts is non existant. Those High Elves are -Studying- the Void. I could study Ants, I could know everything ant related, I could spend years studying them.

It wouldn’t mean I was trying to turn into an Ant.

The other bit people forget there is that there are also scholars from Silvermoon, stood right there, next to the High Elf wayfarers, so this is a bit confusing, if High Elves being there means that Alliance is getting more shiny new Void Elves, then surely Blood Elves being there means that Horde are somehow getting Void Elves as well? (Which ain’t happening before anyone gets ideas).

I mean Blizzard wouldn’t make a distinction, would they, if it was just to show aspirant Void Elves, they’d have left it as High Elf Wayfarers, it would have been easier, less effort and most importantly made more sense.

People can obviously get to Telogrus Rift without being a Void Elf, as, well duh, those Scholars and Wayfarers got there, so if Silvermoon was going to be as anti-Void Elf as all that, why haven’t they stormed into Telogrus, grabbed those Aspirant Void Elves by the scruff of the neck and drag them home? After all, those Silvermoon Scholars are under Horde jurisdiction, they’d be within their rights to do so without really breaking the armistice currently.

Nah, whats more likely is that they are (Both the Blood Elf and High Elf ones) more like Crash investigation experts. There’s just been a massive Industrial accident that affected a lot of people, both sides need to understand what the heck has just happened, and whatever it was that happened, it seems to be something that specifically effects Thalassian Elves, hence both the existing branches of Thalassian elves send people to go and investigate what it was, because like, things that specifically effect your own species relating to the cosmic power of entropy and destruction are probably the kinds of thing you want to know as much as possible about…

That wasn’t a direct dig at you Syleenia, I like that you’re trying to be even handed here, it was more a generic rant that bubbles away in my head every time someone says “the next generation of Void Elves” :stuck_out_tongue:

Also I think they should have normal hair colours to go with the ‘normal’ skin colours to be honest, yeah, I completely agree with you on that.

Hopefully never.

Consider this. Dark Rangers (and I mean the actual Dark Rangers) are a very specific thing, with a very specific set of circumstances. They are Female elves who died and then repossessed their own bodies. How do we know this? Because when they die, female Elves can become a type of spectral being called a Banshee. There are no male Banshees (Rightly so, the ‘Ban’ bit specifically means ‘woman’ ) We know what -can- happen to dead male elves, they can become a Spectral entity called, well, called a Spectre. There is never an occasion in WoW Lore where a Spectre has been able to possess anything, let alone their own dead body, we don’t even know if they -can- and it seems pretty likely that if they could, at some point one of them -would- have done so.

Yes, there are male undead elves who have the tagline ‘Dark Ranger’ But so what. That means nothing. Remember that -living- Elf dude in Trueshot Lodge, the one with a crush on the Actual Dark Ranger Velonara? HIs Tagline says “Death Eater”.

So are we to take it that this alive male elf can actually consume the cosmic power of Death itself?

Of course not. He’s just a pretentious Goth wanting to appear dark and mysterious. (And I say that as someone who -was- a pretentious Goth who wanted to appear dark and mysterious when younger :stuck_out_tongue: )

Add to this that each and every male Undead Ranger who has the ‘Dark Ranger’ tag under them (all, what, two of them) does not actually look like a Dark Ranger. They just look like an Undead Elf.

Before anyone goes “But Nathanos”

But Nathanos nothing. Even -he- is not a Dark Ranger in the truest of senses. He’s not an Elf. Humans don’t become Banshee’s after death. He’s not female, so even if he -was- an elf, he’d have turned into a Spectre, not a Banshee. We also know that this didn’t happen. Nathanos was raised and he was a -normal- Forsaken. Yes, he was gifted at his trade of being a Ranger, but he wasn’t a Dark Ranger. He was a human undead the same as every other standard Forsaken, just one with a neat skillset.

-Then- just before Legion, Sylvanas did the thing with her Val’kyr (I hate this, they ruined both Sylvanas and Nathanos in this story)
She had Nathanos’s soul taken out of his own normal Forsaken body, and transplanted it into the living body of his own Nephew. I think his name was Stefan, but thats not really relevant right now.

Thats like, the complete -opposite- of what a Dark Ranger is. Their whole point is that they repossess their own dead body, They don’t possess someone elses living body.

Blizz done a silly, by their own lore, Nathanos is categorically -not- a Dark Ranger. He’s something pretty damned unique, there’s only one of him in the world, nobody else was made the same way, but a Dark Ranger he ain’t.
The only places on Wowpedia that cite him as being a Dark Ranger are marked as ‘non-canon’ or have no citation. So pretty much just ‘Our guesswork, or it was in the RPG books’.

What I was laboriously trying to get at here, is that if they introduced Dark Rangers, they would have to be a) Exclusively Blood Elven. We know they will do that, they did with DH class, they would also b) Be exclusively Female.

Just stop and think there. I mean that wouldn’t trouble -me- personally, but especially when dealing with an ultra conservative market like the US, can you honestly see them releasing an Allied Race, or even a customisation that could -only- be played as a female character?

C’mon, you’ve seen how outraged some Trumplets on the forum get at the very idea that homosexuality exists on Azeroth, can you imagine their forum screeching if there was suddenly a race you could only play as a woman character?

They’d go Mad!

That was just my point and hell. Give Female Void elves KT Female hair styles.

Some of those hair styles would look pretty boss on Velves, true that!

Hell or mix some High elf hair styles with some human hair styles. You might not like that idea but I think it can work :3

On the contrary, not only do I think it -could- work, I think it makes logical sense, Thinking creatures are social creatures, and social creatures are shaped by society. The Society that the Void/High Elves live in, is very much human society, so they would be shaped in some way by it, and lets be honest, you can change a haircut in what, fifteen minutes?

I think it makes sense they would have adopted -some- human mannerisms, yeah.

It’s just sad that some blood elf/Horde players will gate keep hair colors.

Well yes, one way to have an opposite to the Void on Void Elves is having more fel themed options.

Fel green runic tattoos as you say would be a good start. Even more glowing green eyes.
