Probably because the person who started the new thread didnāt even check if one already exists. And the rest of us who keep repeating the same points are likely encountering the topic for the first time ourselves, haha.
People would probably have less of an issue of it didnt go purple every 30 seconds in combat i guess.
Also Void Elves are exiled Blood Elves.
I would prefer the High Elves that have featured on alliance side every expansion.
Im always in favour of player agency and costumization. The more the merrier. Its not as if blizzard is an indie company. Its not because people are aking for something on the forums that something else does not happen, so i always find weird that shifting blame game.
You can just imagine your HE getting angered
Thatās because at the end of the day they are Void Elves. The customisations were a courtesy, not a rewrite.
And Void Elves can turn other thalassian elves not present at the initial disaster into Void Elves. Priest Ennas proves it. Therefore you are perfectly capable of role-playing a Void Elf, even one using the customisations you are using now, as a High Elf who āstood on the side of the Alliance in every expansion (usually in the far background though)ā who has decided to become a Void Elf.
That you chose not to and are still angling for absolute perfection, to the point you are insisting something that has been demonstrated (that Void Elves are not all former Blood Elves and can include former Alliance High Elves) is not happening is absolutist head canon. The reason you reject this of course is because if you accept that Void Elves CAN change other Elves into Void Elves (and remember, we have proof in the game right now) then your constant complaining about not being able to be a High Elf āwho stood beside the Allianceā is shown to be a fig leaf. You just want the nameplate and the ability to claim to be a true High Elf over Blood Elves.
Sure thing, or just make a less intrusive racial.
Or make it active instead of passive.
Make the player control their power as the void elf lore says.
But this is my opinion and i cannot speak for everyone.
Why?
Why should Void Elves be bastardised for what you want?
Theyāre Void Elves. I get you think they are a mistake but you really donāt have the right to ensure that race is changed just so you can be closer to an ersatz high elf.
Or you can just believe your he more harder what you wanna play or make blood Elf so you dont get that purple glow If that help you getting in your char better. No reason copy blood elf second time to alliance just for name plate title
And see you are ignoring what im saying and just forcing your point. As always a waste of time trying to explain something to people that do not want to listen.
Good day
Like you dont have the right to dictate what i want or not.
Also if you notice i wrote, im only speaking for myself, because i do respect people that like the void elves. But I wont accept the Void Elves as a ācompromiseā because like you just so pointed they are their own thing.
You fundamentally misinterpret compromise as something that must always be consented to.
Sometimes compromises are imposed because agreement is impossible. As here, your version of compromise is you get what you want and everyone else lumps it. Which everyone else has a problem with and thus your rejection of the imposed compromise does not bother them.
Yes you want another blood elf added to game what just says high elf and that it is. So 2 ānewā blood elfs what just say high elf both alliance and horde as new race to game? And dont come say horde not need ofc they need sure there is players who want play blood elf with high elf title at horde side too
I said good day sir.
What point is he even making. I canāt even make it out.
Is it really a compromise if Void Elves get to retain what makes them āVoid Elvesā, but a few glyphs for High Elf players are created?
I mean, why not have a glyph which is optional, which can reduce the transparency of the Void Elf passive racial? Give off a softer purple, outer lining glow which could resemble the Arcane for High Elf Roleplayers?
This is nice take, however, as I was reading that megathread, people donāt want this cause itās not ātrue high elvesā ⦠there are still complaints like ābut they have reverb voiceā, or āthey cannot be paladinsā.
But as an optional solution this would be great for those who love to RP mostly, so they donāt turn purple all the time.
They wouldnāt be bastradised. It would just make optional, when you want to pop your racial - similar to orcs, or trolls, or night elfs. However, I agree to some point. Theyāre void elves, and I think they will play bigger role in next expansion as a race.
There is not compromise (at least not yet implemented). People can just hope for the future.
I am all for new customization, or even totally renaming the race to āElvesā where you have suboption, if you wanna lean more towards void, blood or classic high elf tint. I mentioned that in the beginning of this thread.
Having a glyph is also a good take and also a good optional solution. But as mentioned earlier, HE fans want more - not just glyph, or customizaton - they want their nameplates info be showing the name āhigh elfā ⦠which poses problem right now, as this is not option in game.
Also - presenting a glyph that would supress the racial purple ability would just open another pandora box - dracthyrs would ask the same for evokers to be able to stay always in visage form, and of course worgens would also ask for this, to never turn worgen in combat.
My personal opinion is, even though I am not a huge fan of dracthyrs, itās their fantasy - itās their identity. Youāre a dragon, itās your primal form meant for combat. Visage form is something, that dracthyrs use to fit more among other mortal races. And same goes for worgens (personally I love to play a cursed one, who will turn worgen for combat purpose) - youāre a cursed Gilnean, infected with worgen curse. Your true form is worgen, meant for combat. Your humanoid for is again just something, to fit more with other races of Azeroth.
Because thatās not what a Void Elf is. There is something profoundly wrong with trying to twist an existing race into what it is not. Just because Void Elves were not what a vocal minority wanted does not give that minority the right to demand they be so twisted.
And I donāt respect these so called role players given they want to twist the narrative to support their goal.
We donāt. Those among our ranks that ask constantly for High Elves are the minority among us as well. Most just use the customizations and donāt bother further.
Itās always the same three people posting those long QQ rants about their high elven fantasies⦠Itās getting kind of annoying
Itās also the same people who are against it that reply to them too.
Anyone who replies to this thread is guilty of keeping it alive.
Including you and I ![]()
People should play the original Quelādorei. The first who birthed the name - the Highborne - AKA, Night Elf Mages.
