Do we still agree that the website is the go-to source for this kind of information and that the article about high elves is up to date and correct?
If so, it has not been updated to reflect any concrete evidence of a change in the high elves’ current situation and standing.
To speculate as for what might be the present situation is more than swell!
The problem is when we seek to draw definitive conclusions from thin air.

The only thing i would see blizzard do is merge blood and void elves into a single race for both alliance and horde and call them high elves.

It’s a little bit ironic that you posted that on an Eredar, something nobody expected to become playable.
Whether it’s through an official allied race or a toggled customization, it’s entirely possible that it will be added in the future.
Nothing is written in stone.
