High Elves in 12.1 💙

Except you’re not locked to a faction. You have the choice to either roll one, or the other, or both. You can’t tell me, on Frostmourne (NA), that I can only play Horde and can’t roll an Alliance character on the same server, or on another server.

You’re not locked to factions, you can pick and chose as you wish.

It’ll be fun to see Tyrande figure that out.

No. it’s not Elune. It’s AIlune.

I figure a full reveal will be in the Last Titan, maybe a revelation that the Primus was behind everything all along (he’s clearly the Odyn analogue and Odyn has a massive ‘I am gonna die’ sticker on his back).

Can you do alliance quests as a blood elf?

No, you can’t. Because of the arbitrary invisible barrier.

Not really. Until Shadowlands? Or DF (not sure which served us only one storyline) Blizzard still had enough balls to try and serve us the story from faction perspective. Even when the great threat was looming we still saw what happened from two perspectives. We saw different sides of same events like Wrathgate and its aftermath. Sometimes we saw two sides of quests like the Burnt In at the entrance to the Marsh where both Horde and Alliance find different clues through different methods.

This makes factions difficult to dissolve because the content still exists even if it’s rarely visited and touched thanks to Blizzard’s focus on current Exoansion’s endgame

Are you telling me you rather play one faction and pretend you’re only allowed to play that one faction.

Seriously, I am not bothered if I can’t play an Alliance quest on my Horde characters or a Horde quest on my Alliance characters. I am not locked to only playing one faction. Stop pretending that you’re locked when you have options.

I created a Night Elf Druid to enjoy the Alliance experience. My second favorite character.

I have a gnome warlock, just for the puns.

I am keeping a gnome in reserve in case they ever do Tinkers (which along with Bards are THE two most demanded class additions to come). I have a few Alliance characters though. Lightforged Draenei Priest, Human Warlock, Dwarf Warrior. Even going to make a Void Elf Demon Hunter with my boost from Midnight because I think it will look cool.

I experienced most of OG alliance story on Anniversary through my own Gnome Warlock. It was… Nice to see how Alliance and Horde differs.

Speaking of Tinkers, I think there was a hint on X about Tinkers…

I actually was one originally against factions, but after rolling an Alliance character in BfA, I kind of also see the reason why as well. It was a refereshing experience to see another side of the story too, and it actually made more sense to why there is factions too.

That almost sounds like class skin. Or gnome druid gets to be “tinkerer”

The Elune is a robot is a bit lame and weird and I feel like that part of danuserism is better off forgotten, but since day one I always found that the ‘realm of death’ is very orderly with all the covenants and the sorting hat and the central station that leads there.

I also thought since day one the eternal ones felt more like keeper tier then stronger then titan tier (especially when Anduin didn’t get disenchanted after trying to make a move on archon)

The only thing thats missing from here is that the first ones are just the name the denizens of the shadowlands used for the titans.

What I think is more true is that Elune is something from the shadowlands that got titanforged, not printed by a 5d printer as a robot.

All in all I think its a good retcon, doesn’t make shadowlands a good expansion, but atleast cuts away the worst of its lore changes.

It also gives the devourers a more logical role in the whole story. like they’re a response of death trying to reclaim itself (I thought they looked cool ok)

a void themed paladin only mount was mined earlier (starcursed voidstrider iirc) so its very possible class skins are going to be a thing, unless they’re going to let you summon a void entity to use as a mount with the light.

Probably the later, a Void Elf Paladin is going to need some heavy duty lore lifting to justify but if they get that far then a mount will be easy enough to accept.

Elune being a Titan robot is the only logical response if the Winter Queen is her sister. And it could lay the groundwork for an acceptable Emerald Dream expansion if we understand it as the Titans creating a machine of life to funnel nascent souls to Azeroth…perhaps even the anima they harvested from the Shadowlands is directed there for that purpose, creating a closed system?

That is assuming SL made sense in the first place.

Unfortunately SL should have been retconned out of existence. Too much of it felt like bootlegs of concept and creatures already established in WoW.

There is a part of me that fears they’re not going to touch on it, or going to limit it to pointing at that one void elf casting paladin spells in telogrus rift and pointing at it as the justification (even tho they created her too)

Possibly, its really hard to say now that the only record we have of the shadowlands to begin with is one that is already tainted by the titans.

Not knowing about its original state makes it hard to theory craft.

Still tho, I think they’re slowly trying to pull from shadowlands things they want to reuse or redeem so I’m not entirely sure if we’re going to stick with gods being printed from factories. It is the lore that stands but they’ve been really vague about SL, brokers weren’t ethereals until k’aresh for example.

It’s a live service. You may things had been done differently or not at all, but ultimately you have to accept the way the story has been told

I dont know what to expect lorewise. Im just gonna go along with the ride.
