this evening the hogwarts legacy game comes online i will try it out and if there is a good gameplay for solo content then it will end here in wow for me afther 16 year now i log in once a week do the world boss and the group open world content i did the dungeons and the raids once and thats enough for me (not gone farm them) open world is my game but there is just not enough of that to justify the sub.
Well…you dont do Mythic+ and you did raid on LFR. CLEARLY this game is not for you and you should find a game you actually play.
You can’t compare the two games as they’re vastly different gengres and contain a large amount of different content.
But play Hogwarts Legacy, and when you’re done, return to WoW for some online multiplayer action.
You will pay 60 euro’s for a 30hr game? But call Wow to expensive? Lmao…
You’ll be back here next week once you completed hogwarts…
(Or a different MMORPG ofcourse!)
I’ve never understood why people call wow Expensive, most people get at least 20-30 hours a week play time, which is more than many entire games, every week, for under £9 per month.
Still to expensive? Fine, you can also farm gold and pay literally nothing for this game.
Back on topic, I have no interest in Hogwarts Legacy so I’m probably not the person to ask, however if you are tired of wow and want some breathing space from it, sure why not play another game and return later when that game is exhausted / you’re bored of it too.
That is such a stupid answer. Who cares what they do ingame?
Just stop WoW if you don’t like it anymore. But comparing these two totally different games is useless.
imagine playing wow 16 years but not really playing this game at all
Just go play harry potter who cares you do you
Harry potter looked great and all, until I saw it’s SP. It would’ve been a perfect time for a HP MMO. Did check some reviews, combat and enemy diversity seems mediocre. Have fun, though! I’ll play it for free at some point via xbox gamepass.
gameplay looks super lame.
Everybody’s like ooh nice graphics 10/10
So for me it sounds like wow was never a game designed for you in the first place! Have fun in hogwarts!
Harry Potter is a single player game. You can’t compare a MMO to that.
Ive been playing Elden Ring but whenever I remind myself Need for Speed god damn, it just feels faster.
I find that a bit hard to believe. 3-4.x hours per day on average? While the average age of the players passed 30? I’m not sure.
I think I want to play it at some point too. I do have Pharaoh coming out next week, so it’ll be that first.
I think Hogwarts Legacy will be a massive success.
I think lots of WoW players will check it out.
And I think Blizzard rushed Dragonflight’s release for the holidays, because Hogwarts Legacy was initially stated to release then too.
Having to contest with Hogwarts Legacy at a time when WoW is in its post-release slump is not what Blizzard desires at all.
I think Blizzard will lose at least 10% of the WoW subscribers to Hogwarts Legacy, and won’t have a chance to recover them before patch 10.1 in June at the earliest.
I think the overlap between WoW users and Harry Potter fans is huge.
It’s fantasy worlds. It’s roleplaying games. It’s magic. It’s monsters. And most WoW players probably have the age where they grew up with the Harry Potter books and movies.
I think Hogwarts Legacy is different from other good games like Elden Ring and God of War because of its franchise. Just like WoW has some inherent appeal to lots of people because it’s Warcraft, so does Hogwarts Legacy appeal to lots of people because it’s Harry Potter.
It’s a bit like when Star Wars: The Old Republic came out. Some people were destined to go play that game, because it was Star Wars.
Warcraft is a strong IP. But Harry Potter is the chosen one.
its max 40 hours of single gameplay. is difficult to say that, dear Darth Jito.
Wow will lose players regardless of this game.
The only game that forces Wow players to quit is Wow itself.
Their dumb new borrowed power system for example, thank god it’s not a season two feature…
Yes, WoW will absolutely lose subscribers from now on, no matter what. People are through with the box product experience and the initial release hype is over. WoW is starting its usual subscriber decline now. This happens with every expansion. They start at with max subscribers upon release, and then after a few months the long slow decline commences until the next expansion comes out, with a few bumps along the way whenever Blizzard releases major content patches.
So the subscriber decline is going to happen either way. It’s just very easy to foresee where many of those subscribers will go in the imminent time to come.
I also think the 40 hours gameplay comparison is a bit flawed.
Dragonflight is a 40 hours gameplay experience. Most people play it for that amount of time – that’s the time the box product takes to chop through. It’s just some of us devoted WoW players that replay those 40 hours again and again, by doing the same Mythic+ dungeons and the same raid and the same world quests, and the same leveling experience on alts, over and over again.
And that’s no different from how another person might replay Hogwarts Legacy or Elden Ring or Skyrim on a new character, choosing a different house or skillset, and picking a different path to adventure.
Both WoW and Hogwarts Legacy have 40 hours of gameplay value.
And both WoW and Hogwarts Legacy have numerous hours of replay value for the people who want to stick with the games.
It’s around 100 hours.
Hogwarts Legacy is a great game, i am 20 hours in and having a blast. That being said replacing a game like WoW with a game like Hogwarts legacy is not going to work. Hogwarts Legacy is a single player game with a finite ammount of content, once its done, its done. You cant expect to put thousands of hours into a game like this, 60-80 hours and you are done.
If you dont like WoW anymore, by all means quit and go see what else is out there, but using Hogwarts Legacy as a excuse is a little thin.
Best of luck to you!
