Thought I would have a try. Go in, I assume some starting zone, running around going what do I do then I am suddenly flying in the air and then land, loot a couple of chests, then a raptor and player attack me and I die and then end up in someone else’s body while they are killing? I leave the area and that was it … ok then
This game mode wants me want to kill myself by cutting my throat and bleeding out on the carpet
Apparently it’s for 6 weeks, that’s what I’ve seen being said online.
You just need to earn one renown a day if this is how long it will be.
No thanks.
I’ve tried it for an hour. And good lord, is this what you broke your promise for Blizzard?
Every 8 weeks a patch? Took you 9 weeks. And now 10.2.7 is even further away.
Please just drop Season 4 already.
This BR mode is not my thing, at all. Not to mention this was popular 10 years ago. You’re late.
The latency makes it hard for “aiming” skills to properly aim at people, not to mention when you’re literally touching someone else, you’re still out of range because of that. This is not the game for it.
I played an hour, and still haven’t reached renown 2.
Remember Blizzard and Holly, you’re still making up for that blunder called Shadowlands.
/rant over
The dracthyr in a wheelchair in Waking Shores, the deaf/mute centaur leader and the young centaur with PTSD in Ohn’aran Plains, the dwarf in a wheelchair at the revamped Love is in the Air festival, the lad from Bastion who was blinded and his owl companion who had his tongue removed in Maldraxxus who both went on to live with their traumas and disabilities, and there was the old tauren lady in Highmountain who needed a hearing aid although that was used to comedic effect similarly to Drek’thar’s condition. Zul’jin had one arm and one eye after his run-in with the elves but it’s unknown if it was by choice or not as the lore is contradictory on how much a troll can regenerate.
There’s been a push towards “inclusion” in recent years but it’s all very surface level. They put in disabled NPCs but do little to support accessibility of their game. They put in LGBTQ NPCs and more ethnic customization options but do little to stop people from calling each other every slur under the sun and their automated moderation is often exploited by the abusive party to shut down those objecting to the behaviour.
It’s all just lip service so gullible people form a parasocial relationship with the company which makes them more likely to spend money. Same as “empowering” Dove commercials making women feel good enough about themselves to go out and spend money on self care but not good enough to realize they don’t need to buy any of that nonsense.
Thank you for the insight. Many of these NPCs I haven’t given a second thought. Guess me and Blizzard are the same in that regard, though less maliciously in my case I like to think.
I’ve tried this gamemode out and managed to hit Renown 6 or 7 (I forgot) before I logged off for the night. It’s definitely not my cup of tea in the longterm but I can imagine playing it enough to get all the rewards.
My advice to anyone who wants to do it for the mogs but not the pvp content is to immediately focus on doing the captains order for 250-300 plunder and then just grabbing golden chests and focusing on collecting skills like the Ardenweald spirit form and Fade to Shadow spells so you can run away from fights and farm.
Good luck fellows
I’m a decent Fort player, and I die as soon as I meet people in WoW BR as well
WoW version of BR doesnt come close to mimic other BR’s except perhaps from the storm part.
So in your experienced opinion, they dropped the ball with Plunderstorm then? Not having played those games I can only really compare it to WoW, maybe spesifically the battlefronts, and it’s not a favourable comparison…
I’ve played this for a few hours now. Killed immediately several times, got 57 rep from a 10 minute game, the princely sum of 517 rep from a 3rd place finish. The grind of PvE looting without actual loot, with compulsory PvP ganking.
Amazing.
Kind of like attempting to farm the troll teeth quest in Stranglesnore on a pvp server back in the day.
Aye. I thought of the Green Hills quest myself. Assumed lessons had been learned.
One can imagine how many hours wasted on this clownfiesta is hilarious.
Rather fixing issues to the main game (balance and ect), they put a fortnite wannabe as “content”.
It’s the obvious course of action, I feel, so I’m glad that this (increasing the renown gains) is on top of their collective minds.
The cynical part of me thinks that it was always planned anyway. There’s this pattern of releasing content that would be far better with some obvious tweaks (how the HS event bosses spawned, for example) that are delivered 1-3 days later, seemingly in response to feedback.
But the issues that are addressed are always so very obvious that it’s difficult to believe that they weren’t caught in internal testing.
OH.MY GOD. I totally forgot about that. I was in sporeggar server (RPPVP) and i still remember that mess. probably i smashed my old old old pc while doin that.
I apologize. I found it a traumatic quest on a PvE server due to its stupid drop rate and I’ve only imagined how bad it was on PvP servers.
Is there no way to actually learn the controls for this other than joining a game, getting killed and then not being able to learn the controls.
I’d like to have some idea on how to play it before going against others.
