Homophobia in roleplay needs to cease

Hats are all kinds of wonderful!

I want a big, wide brimmed roaring 20’s dame hat right now.

That’d be gorgeous!

Also for ingame, WoW needs two things desperatly:

More lovley hat designs.
And having the hats not remove your hair when you equip them. I want to see it flow out underneath :frowning:

Kul tiran npcs are the beta version for that. Budget will determine whether players ever get it.

I think we actually only got like 4 now when you think about it.

The typical fishing hat that hangs down at the edges, top hat, cowboy-looking hat & Don carlos.

ANd then these but in diffrent colour variations. We need more!

Cut half of Bobby’s salary this year(it wont even make a dent in his money) and put it -all- soley into the budget for player fluff improvments.

That would be really cool!

That’s like suggesting the US cut 1% of its military budget to build some real schools and affordable housing. Ain’t in the stars.

I know, but one can dream!

Also I think it’s amusing(Sad honestly) that the US military has numerous years actually requested to the US goverment that they shift their budget. They’ve had a problem with lack of funds for logistics but keeps getting more big tanks and big guns when they are overstocked.

But that doesn’t get them NRA votes. More guns!

It’s more that there’s money in ordering more tanks to rust in the arizona desert to keep up production quotas. They already made a killing just leaving whole caravans of humvees and tanks in iraq.

Logistics don’t get you campaign funds from Lockheed and Boeing.

And cloaks that don’t poke through chair backs when you sit down. We can hope, but not holding out for these tweaks.

Hey, atleast it only took us like…what, 10 years to go from completly ram-stiff capes to slightly flowy when you move?

Those capes were so stiff you could make a wind-break from them.

The good old days!

But yeah, on the cape topic, I would love for them to work better & also generally more cape variations. Alot of them are still fairly dull, and the more unique ones are often the older capes that have terrible textures.

WoW also has a- major- issue with nearly all gear being heavily overdesigned to be these epic ultraflex anime monster slayer xxSeppirothxx cool stuff.

But it looks horrible to mog alot of the time for roleplay. If I want a nice looking basic shield for example, I need to go for some low-poly unless I want a giant screaming demonic face and fires shooting out from it.

I’ve personally never really noticed Homophobia in character. To be honest.

If you’re not LGBT yourself (I’m not going to assume what your sexuality is), then it’s probably easier to miss instances of distinct or implied homophobia in roleplay. I’ve noticed it with depressing regularity in - for example - human roleplay at times. I know that many others have had the same experience as me; I even know someone who insulted OOC for their character’s IC positive view on homosexuality.

I’ve noticed a lot of homophobia and transphobia IC. From calling same-sex couples “unnatural” and “sick” to people claiming the culture of their race found same-sex relationships “repulsive”. It’s usually been from complete strangers that have also used slurs and been incredibly hostile and rude, adding absolutely nothing to the roleplay except upset and pointless bigotry.

I think it’s been said above, but there’s no reason for homophobia to exist to any degree in WoW Lore, so people applying that to this world is simply them choosing to bring IRL values or prejudice to a fantasy world where people are just trying to have fun. So I think people have to be really mindful of this, and just not do it unless they know it’s fine with the people in question and those boundaries have been established.

People who aren’t LGBT might not understand why this is a problem or why people are getting offened, and that’s because it’s not a problem for them personally. LGBT people have to deal with this stuff every single day, and having to deal with it from some pricks in a fantasy game who think it’s funny is just exhausting. We just want to switch off and have a good time. It’s just really unoriginal and brings nothing to roleplay. Why do it if it’s actively upsetting people?

I’ve also found that it’s mostly these people who will also whine & complain about how “We shouldnt bring IRL politics and views into the game/s!” while they are the ones primarily doing this.
