if i hear the word eternal one more time in swtor i’m going to commit violent war crimes
Story working as intended then.
they really got us there with the 4D snakes & ladders to get us into a galactic war again
all it took was to spam eternal non-stop for a few years
I felt pretty shoehorned into the “Eternal Alliance” stuff too. What if I chose to be the new emperor??
Your fleet is ruined and you rejoin your people or remain a pitiful neutral side never to be relevant again
What’s all this ‘Eternal Empire’ nonsense?
SWTOR ended with Shadow of Revan, right? Right? >_>
(I’m not bitter or jaded that the entire EE arc pretty much canned RP in SWTOR, at least for me and my guild, and was a much weaker story than the initial class arcs were. Honest.)
I barely know jack about it but non force users even having access to that story is a LOL!! moment to me
bench-pressing valkorian as a bounty hunter because I don’t have any force powers
The silver lining is that Darth Nox gets to reclaim their record of most murders committed by a single person in a Dark Council meeting.
Hot take: only the Dark Council in SWTOR should have the title Darth. It feels really diluted to have loads of random Darths swanning around.
agreed
Lord is good enough for most Sith
Aaand I’m back after eating a suspension for saying that I wasn’t going to say what I thought about a certain dwarf. ^^
Glad to see Star Wars getting brought up, that’s one universe in which homophobia supposedly existed. On account of George Lucas stating homosexuality didn’t exist.
Which raised a bit of an uproar and suddenly bam, same-sex romance in SWTOR. Good times.
Sounds about right. Lazy writing part fits very well in those trying to be edgy but don’t want to put in the effort to it.
But 3rd point is pretty much spot on.
Tell that to the RP community
Tbh those that reached the rank were well worth it imo, it was the RPers who decided to ALWAYS be a cantina darth
Pity the guardsman.
Except there very much is. I have not heard of a more incorrect fact on a fundamental lore level ever.
Discrimination of other races is very prominent in Warcraft Universe. Be it based on religious dogma (I.e the Holy Light) be it based on past deeds (Elves vs Trolls)
Be it on cultural grounds (High Elves vs Blood Elves vs Void Elves) demonic incitement (Orcs vs Draenei) or technological snobbery (Gnomes vs Goblins), it’s the backbone of the war in warcraft.
Based on skin colour or what we generally think? No, skin colour is one of the least important things in the entire universe. It has no correlation of similarity to what we see in our world or how it works.
Yes this is an oft-forgotten point I think needs to be hammered home. You can’t say no to the implicit racism or homophobia while gratuitously describing guro-tier rp prompts about how successful your hulking stud of an orc/elf/human warrior conked someone’s head in.
It’s double standards at best, blind hypocrisy at worst.
Entirely reasonable, because it works. Racism between other races other than humans ironically is the way to go if you want to roleplay it. Humans? They have the Diplomacy racial for a reason. They are the most cosmopolitan race on Azeroth and the most accepting of new and different peoples and ideas.
In short as I’ve already said it’s entirely fine to have your character dislike facets about other characters, so long as it can be explained within the logical boundaries of that particular race/culture/creed. It’s remarkably simple really.
The most fun I had in SWTOR was with a Sith guild that was very invested in a sensible rank structure and believable power levels. Im not usually a fan of dice systems in MMOs, but they had someone who clearly knew what they were doing and had made something both fair and believable.
My Sith Warrior had managed to get to Lord by that point, and I was nervous about overplaying/overstepping it in terms of power. No one likes to be a party pooper! But everything slotted into place so seamlessly, it was great. The apprentices who did their best against an expert, to a very tense dual with the 2nd in command… I do miss SWTOR when it was good hah!
But as Atahalni said, pity the Guardsman; I had an Empire Trooper (agent with armour mog) too and, although she was a fun character, dear lordy lord the bad Sith RPers about… eesh.
Afaik orcs really, really hate being called “greenskins” by others.
Nah
You’re thinking of speciesism.
Calling fantasy species “races” is a mishap of old that must be set straight.
