Homophobia in rp needs to cease

Draenei canonically slam their foreheads together. The brain damage means you care.

draenei tie their face-tentacles together like some reverse-Avatar

they’re blue after all

i’ll have you know that trolls rub their tusks together to show their affection for one another because they can’t kiss without stabbing their partner in the jugular

the math checks out

I always imagined Orcs show affection by punches and more things like that.

i think that’s called domestic abuse vaxir

I think the coolest way to display orcs in a relationship would be to have it gentle and affectionate, since it would show them as more nuanced than the ultra-masculine “me smash stronk” kinda jock attitude the entire race is more and more being flanderized into, alot by Blizzard themselves.

The RP dynamic in my orc’s relationship is that one of them’s the gentle heart, but showcases moments of brawn and will kick your :peach: if prompted and the other one’s the brawn but showcases moments of heart and sincere wholesomness. One’s a Frostwolf and the other’s a Warsong.

Their way of showing affection is telling stories over the fire and challenging one another to out-do each other in their perpetual competition to strive to bring out the best possible version of each other out.

That sounds lovley, and I like it!

I might be misremembering but I’m pretty certain they show Draka punching Durotan during the Warcraft movie, or something similar. Not a hard punch or anything of the sorts, mind you.

S’what I was thinking and lead me to the idea really! It was a firm thump but nothing that would be painful. It was for a jest, yes, but it just seemed so… Orc-like.

So basically, like Toph from Avatar:TLA?

I always imagined orcs to be very open about their feelings in general and not being afraid to show it. Don’t think they kiss or anything like that since tusks and whatever. But I bet they do that thing where they press their foreheads together etc and are not afraid to embrace the people they care about. The Lord of the Rings kind of love. True brotherhood type of stuff.

Because proper chad dudes and dudettes are not afraid to show their emotions to anyone.

An >oblivious< orc.

Sure I can dig that it doesn’t exist. Just thinking of some reason off the cuff. I admit to being a pedant. I can’t rest until a gap, that I percieve, is explained in a story/lore.

I like this take on it. I prefer to think that orcs, as a fierce people, love equally fiercely. Their aggression in that regard is protective, not shared between themselves; if someone attacks one of them, it’s an attack on both.

Yes, I know there is more that one rule, of RP, I am just highlighting mixing up IC with OOC. If someone hates my character the reasonable assumption would be that the Character dislikes, not necessarily the player.

This, yeah.

I also like the forehead touch thing that Saurfang does to show his affection to his (dead) son in Old Soldier, though we do see orcs kiss in the novels so there’s room for both.

Whichever is appropriate in the moment; kissing is one step more intimate than the forehead embrace.

Her smile broadened. “Today,” she said simply.
He looked at her for a long moment, then, with no word, pulled her to him and kissed her.

Oh, right then, Orcs do kiss, never said they didn’t as a culture/race, just my hypothetical >oblivious< Orc probably doesn’t.

Only if you play a peon, even then, he must be really dumb, as an orc main, never really liked the “Dumb warmonger orc” thinking, there is more to orcs than just that.
