I just gave the post a read, which is why I removed my comment since I had not read it before posting it.
But there is nowhere in that statement that it’s said that it does not exist, sure it does say “in Azeroth, you can love who you want” but that, to me, just raises the point that it’s accepted in the general population that LGBT is more overly accepted rather than frowned upon rather than totally non existant
No, you see, it doesn´t matter what an author says about their work, the only thing that matters is what´s part of published material. Their stance on how the world they are developing operates is irrelevant because muh strict canon.
thats why he added it to the lore ‘’Homophobia is officially non-canon in the Warcraft setting now, as stated by Steve Danuser, the Lead Narrative Designer.
This is a very large win as a statement, especially for RP communities where some people push their hatred and bigotry into RP.”
I´ll gladly switch to my RP characters or forum main as soon as forum will allow me to do it. Fortunately my Classic character shares the name with my forum main.
So far in the entire franchise history, even back in the 90’s, homophobia has never been shown to exist, in any form whatsoever AT ALL, while other topics, such as sexism(no longer existant) or racism/specism, has.
In fact, the opposite has instead been shown, that same-sex relationships isn’t a big deal.
The twitter post itself as another example.
We aren’t actually allowed to say anything homophobic or discriminatory in text or chat or any form of communication over the WoW client, roleplay or not. Making the discussion moot anyway, since how will you actually roleplay it if you aren’t allowed in the first place to portray it in the chat?
Out of everything you can in WoW, why would you choose homophobia as a character trait/flaw?
Alongside point 5, do you really want you and your character to be the FIRST AND SOLE example in WoW’s entire franchise history to be homophobic?
Can´t find any logical argument to support their bigoted opinions, so they start claiming everyone is a nonce because some actual nonces tried to put themselves into LGBTQ+ category or something, which means anyone who shows any support to LGBTQ+ people is apparently a nonce or something.
Bella refused to report it because he didn’t want his devout Christian parents finding out the sort of things he does online and without him being willing to go on it my tip-off didn’t go anywhere.
