I think, deliberatly choosing to roleplay something that alot of people struggle with in real life & is geniuenly flammatory & negative, does show that they do infact not care about others.
Setting something that you know for a fact is hurtful to many people, in a public place, especially one people use to relax from the real world, is very careless & just a little bit insulting.
Defamation is just proporting a false statement as fact that is harmful to another person’s reputation.

Doesn’t actually need to be a false statement either. My uncle could have stolen money from me and if I went blasting it all over the local news based on a hunch where I accuse him of doing this without any evidence other than my own opinions about my uncle, it would still be defamation because at the time of stating it there was no proof of such despite the fact that behind the scenes my uncle might have objectively stolen my money.
This is because a jury will be instructed to examine the allegedly defamatory statement in the totality of the circumstances in which it was said or written in order to determine whether an alleged statement of opinion is in fact defamatory. Under the law, a statement of fact in one context can be considered to be a statement of opinion in another context.

It can certainly give that impression, sure. But as we’ve seen here, someone who they themselves claims to be homosexual, and they have claimed to role-play a character with some homophobic beliefs, because he chooses to not take offense from the matter in role-play.
Being offended is a tricky thing, because offense is not given, but taken. Sure some people go out there looking to offend, but not all. Because we don’t all share the same opinion of what is offensive, do we need to temper everything to the most offended? Not to say that we shouldn’t find homophobia offensive, just the idea of fictional homophobia. Certainly they’re not equal in terms of how awful they are.
