Hi, does anyone know how would the last week before pre-patch and the reset day work in relation to vanilla pvp ranking system? I’m trying to reach max rank by then but since it’s progress is limited by weekly resets I need to know whether last week will still be taken into account or no.
To put it simply:
If I farm enough honor for rank progression during last week before TBC pre-patch, will on reset day I get my rank-up and would be able to buy that exclusive gear like r14 weps etc., or is this last week is not taken into account anymore?
I’ve asked this via support ticket but GM said they don’t know this and devs, or other people that know this information, should answer this here.

I have read difrent things some say no, others say that instead of on tuesday, the honor gain will be counted on monday the day earlier so you can get your rank and buy your items. read this on reddit as I was searching the internet since I had the same question.
Well no, it doesn’t work like that.
By the time the prepatch hits, the honor system switches to the TBC one and the ranks are removed.
The gear will no longer require a rank, and the honor points will be gathered in real time.
The rank 14 gear will be available to buy with honor points and marks from the battlegrounds (some pieces cost X and require marks from Warsong Gulch, others cost Y and require AV marks).
If you don’t rank before prepatch you will simply not be able to get the R14 title and will keep the best you had before prepatch.
During prepatch you can continue to do battlegrounds to get the honor/marks you need to buy the PvP gear that will no longer require the rank 14.
You will be able to farm the whole set and weapons in a few days during prepatch.
That would be nice, and it makes sense too.
