Hope for Player Housing

See i agree Ironforge is a grand place and underused and more of a stronghold imho than SW better looking aswell.

Yeah, imagine Deathwing trying to pull off his stunt in Ironforge, they’d just close the gate and let gnomes have at him. He’d be scarred for life.

Actually you are right, however what killed it, was that the game staunchly and consistently catered to the player base who demanded and received challenging content, so challenging that the average casual could not hope to complete it, even quest content often was unbearably difficult.

They went bankrupt, many would argue their excellent housing was the only think that kept them afloat for as long as it did, as their cash shop was dominated by housing items.

Their game was weak, and not a strong foundation for the level of housing they provided so the basis could not be supported obviously. However WoW is well established, and the housing system would only bring a different class of players to the world, those that maybe spend their time on creative games instead of MMORPG’s. Maybe just something to think about, as a way for expansion.

All I want is for it not be an afterthought, housing on rails, with absolutely no ability for individual creativity, that would be a shame, as it could be so much more.

Thank you for this!

I’m so used to the ‘I hate it/this idea so it mustn’t happen or should be removed’ mentality (think flying threads!) that your post is most refreshing!

I specifically said start with SW and OG, because frankly I don’t trust Blizzard to be able to start with all the classic capitols at once. That and I don’t see them starting with any other two cities, considering how much they love putting things in them.

Mah sincerely i find housing in eso … boring. But many ppl like it. Lets see…

It wasnt that bad when you had the choice to use a city instead of an another.
I used to go in if and darnassus . But sometimes sw was better.
Now you have one choice. And is bad.

If you got any of that from a little tongue in cheek comment, you’re the problem buddy not Serissa.
I loved using Dala myself, and being stuck with Orgrimmar is a huge step back, not least because not all the portals are there.
The reason I wanted to see housing on the capitals first was so people could have a house to represent their race, not to have everyone stuck with another orc stronghold. We already have the garrison for that.
In fact, if Baine is really going to take the lead I would love to see tauren getting it on the first wave (if they were unable to deliver all of them at once).

Even as a huge blood elf fan, I have to acknowledge that Silvermoon and Azuremyst are probably going to be the most problematic of the old areas, considering how old they are. Or not, what do I know about programming :upside_down_face:

Was there really any need for this comment??

I think it is you who needs to get a ‘damn hold of yourself and get back to reality’ if this is how you react to someone expressing their opinion.

As much as i would love that i think ti will remove even more all the social aspect of the game. I would prefer much more a Guild Hall, fully customizable with banners and the color of the tabards, a Bar, some trivia game to play with someone else ( i don’t know something like an in-game chess game or somethign similar).
It will also be a nice implement for RP Server, specially if you can decide the location of your Guild Hall to fit the different “Style” of the races in game.

Dude you got some big mental issues, go visit a doctor for your own sake please.

How in the world you got that out of the post that tells she hates Stormwind? Hating Stormwind is social justice now? I don’t get it. So confused. Was also gonna ask what is alchemist snowflake but then i read again what you wrote… anyways, don’t bully my friend here just because she hates Stormwind! I mean what if she reveals next she does not like strawberry ice cream, what insults we got left if we use all of them in one post?:grinning:

Just NO… stop wishing and making MMO game single player. I want to play with players, meet them in cities. I hate ghost towns, everyone sitting in theirs garrisons/houses. Game already looks dead, and you want move playres to houses? So you will meet 2-5 players in city, if you’re lucky? Just NO, to player housing.

Nah I don’t think that would happen, that was a garrison thing.
It would be quite the opposite in fact if, let’s say, housing is in stormwind and orgrimmar but all the other normal services like bank and ah are still outside the house.

I see this as a reason MORE to visit the city. Not LESS.

Totally agree; It’s one of the least interesting of the Cities (Both A/H) thematically and it’s getting to the point where it’s just such blatant shoehorning us into Stormwind. This doesn’t even mention the issues of lag there during big events.

I’d much prefer to have a player home in Gnomeregan or Ironforge. Heck, if Allied Races got in on it, a home in Blackrock Depths for my DID would be awesome! Sure a house in Stormwind could be okay if nothing else were available, but it’d be a massive disappointment.

Wow is a high fantasy game; We should be able to have more than just a normal everyday house.

People stayed in their garrison because they had everything there. Resources, fishing, quests that sent you to every hub, quests that sent you to dungeons, profession buildings, bank, AH, BMAH, everything was there.

This is why it’s so important that housing has none of those things. Housing must literally be tmog for a building, only cosmetic. Some options like a basic vendor/repair NCP and a mailbox are ok, you can already have that with mounts and toys. For me though, the less utility the better.

I respect your opinion but what we are talking about here would be optional so you wouldn’t have to take part in it unless you wanted to. There would be nothing stopping you or anyone else from still going out and doing your normal questing stuff/everyday WoW stuff.

Just so you’re aware (and I apologise to those who have already read my opinion on this in other threads!) WoW, as an MMO, is a single player game. Most MMO’s are. They just have a community base which includes the ability for players to play with and against others if they wish to. It is by no means a prerequisite that anyone has to do so though. (Wth the exception of Dark Orbit where PVP is forced on you whether you want to join in or not! There may be others as well.)
