[Horde] LFRP guild and a plea to the rp community

I’ll make this part short: Hi I’m looking for an RP guild on the Horde side of Argent Dawn. I have only a few requests.

  • No neutral guilds (outside of the faction - opposing Sylvanas does not necessarily count in this context)

  • No race exclusive guilds (excluding some races is ok though)

  • No blatantly evil themed guilds

That’s it.
I’m not new to RP, but I have lots to learn. I know not to metagame for example. My character is far from written in stone and I really just want to be part of a passionate community and make friends, but at the same time I don’t want to be restricted by strong ideologies from the guild’s theme. That is all.
_____________________________________________________________________________

Now since I’m here I’d like to ask of something from the server community, to whomever’s reading this -

Please give Horde a real chance.
Far too often I see that people are just having a holiday away from Alliance. We have lots to offer and I dare say far more diverse than Alliance. I understand Game of Thrones influenced a lot of people back in the day and that naturally means you likely don’t feel much of a pull to the ‘beastly’ horde. There’s so much potential. You can still create your house guilds and roleplay a scuffed the hound on Horde.

Furthermore, the horde is more than the sum of their race. A tauren doesn’t have to be a peace-loving hippie. Did you know the Grimtotem branched into the Horde because of a schism in their clan? Yeah, that means you can roleplay a badboy tauren.

Or what about the forsaken? Why presume they only care about themselves. Maybe undeath made them care more about life and its preservation than they ever could in their living days. You don’t have to align yourself with Sylvanas, in fact the Horde has been split down the middle, creating plenty of opportunities for everyone and all tastes.

Preservation of the RP tag
I see a lot of plebs on the server now, naming themselves cheeky things to grind the gears of people like myself. I have another request. Report them. Let’s help each other preserve the value of that “RP” tag. The normies have plenty of choices outside of AD and there’s no reason for us to tolerate their shenanigans. Afraid of being a dork in the process of reporting them? Well I got news for you, if you are roleplaying, that makes you a dork so just own it and help me and all other roleplayers preserve the last bastion for roleplayers on EU.

If you don’t RP in the first place - why did you come here on AD? I’m not telling you, you can’t be here, but the least you can do is support the local community. I’ll remind you it’s nowhere else to be found on EU servers at this point.

"But it don’t help :frowning: "

I hear you say - well when no one reports them, yeah they get away with it. We need to come together on this and stop ignoring it. Here’s a reminder of said rules

World of Warcraft Role Play (RP) servers are intended to provide players with an added level of immersion in the game world. Names on RP servers must adhere to Blizzard’s Code of Conduct, and also must avoid being disruptive to the world.

Examples of common unacceptable or disruptive RP names include (but are not limited to):

  • Non-medieval or non-fantasy names (For example: Slipnslide, Robotman, Technotron)
  • Names that reference well known people, characters, brands, places, or icons (For example: Britneyspears, Austinpowers, Mcdonalds, Georgewashington, Newyork)
  • Names that consist of multiple words (For example: Inyourface, Welovebeef, Howareyou, Sixtyseventy)

Blizzard reserves the right to assign a random name to any character violating our RP naming policy. For more severe or repeat violations, we may apply additional penalties to the account.

This extends to guild names by the way.

Lastly

If you do roll Horde: Please, I hope you’ll consider giving it a real chance. No we don’t have the numbers that alliance does, but that mostly stems from the very issue in the first place, that those who do give Horde a chance, are extremely quick to bail out. Have some faction pride. Stoke the fires and kill every alliance you see. Stop roleplaying neutral c**** that treats the faction like a skin-deep quality. Faction change, delete your alliance, leave them to their quality lazed stormwind RP, you aren’t missing anything and you know it. Let’s make Argent Dawn great again!

There’s my guild, the Rastari Pact. We’re a Zandalari-themed warband, but we allow all races to join so that we can learn their ways and teach them ours, we fight for the Horde as an extension of the alliance between the Horde and Zandalari Empire and we’re not evil.

We’re a pretty friendly, non-dramatic bunch OOC and our officer team makes the individual character progression and growth of our members a priority.

The sentiments of the overall post are nice (more Horde is always good, particularly Tauren) but I completely disagree with the above. Neutral players that are Horde races are lore friendly. You could even have Horde individuals who in effect spy for Alliance (forget the name of the blood elf rogue who does this for Anduin).

This part may actually put off many Alliance mains from trying out Horde side.

Valeera Sanguinar?

You mean it might put off more than it already does? The way I see it, you have to commit. It’s fine if people actually stay Horde, but if they keep an anchor on Alliance, what’s the point? They aren’t actually changing anything if they end up roleplaying more on Alliance at the end of the day. Obviously they can do what they want, I’m not one to tell what they can or cannot do. It’s just my opinion after all.

@Dolgrub, are you guys active? I only see 3 people online and it’s not exactly early. I don’t mean to criticize, don’t take it the wrong way please.

I think that’s her, I get the impression she’s kinda a double agent from what I read in the books and see in game?

Or just download TRP3.

Besides, you can´t have more players with the same name, so even RPers often have to put á, ä, ô and so on into their names just to be able to have a character name similar to their RP name. Even when I see people using RP surnames, they still have slight differences, because the surname has been taken too.
Also, there´s a point for picking random name even for RP character: You don´t get as attached to them, because after character death, you just change TRP and there is no need to pay for rename.

What kind of names do you imagine I consider worth reporting? I honestly don’t see what your point is here other than how you don’t care yourself.

She isn’t.

She’s loyal under the Wrynn Family, but not to the Alliance as a whole.

Honestly, judging by your post, I wouldn´t see it as too far-fetched if you were reporting anything that doesn´t sound like character name from WoW even though those people just picked some random name they liked.
The rules you quoted literally mention names that consist of multiple words, but that also includes stuff like Proudmoore, Windrunner, Greymane or Sunstrider.

The point is that those names don´t really hurt anyone and even roleplayers use them. Should we report roleplayers because they picked a name we don´t like?

I came here because my Friend/GM wanted to move here to roleplay, and I had been with that same guild for 2-3 years. I’ve never Roleplayed before, but I have made a basic b*tch TRP profile, and I do respect and enjoy watching people roleplay.

Nobody can tell me to move when I’ve been here for 6 years, because I’m not gonna.

And I’d like to believe that people on the AD forums have zero problems with me being on Argent Dawn, despite me not being a roleplayer.

I’m pretty sure unless you actually pay their sub, you don’t really have any authority over what a player can or can’t do. You can report them of course if they misbehave and break the ToS, but then again, calling neutral RPers c**** isn’t exactly improving your cause either.

People are allowed to play on whichever realm they like, while I don’t see the benefit of being a non-RPer on a RP server, it’s still their choice and I don’t see how naming a character Technotron would be severely disrupting RP. Some names are obvious and I’m sure you can’t even name characters after some of the names listed, secondly, I’ve seen plenty of RPers with weird character names - yet a completely different RP name in their TRP.

I can see where you are coming from since I did cite the rules, but honestly I don’t care about names like that. What I consider an eyesore is when someone blatantly goes out of their way to name a character in a way that is at odds with the policy. We have an entire guild on the server that is called “Scarlet Crusade” which in and on itself is irrelevant, but their members all name themselves “roleplayer” with various symbols and so forth.

No reason to antagonize me, I tried to write my post in a way that would make someone smile instead of just being a regular wall of text, but I understand that I failed.

Ok, but I didn’t tell you what you can or cannot do. Calm down.

Sigh ok, but I didn’t intend to offend anyone.

I don’t think anyone is offended, it’s just rude to say what you said.

I’ll have to admit that the name complaint coming from a zandalari who is essentially called ‘Jimbo’ is humorous at best. I’m not at all a fan of non-RPers dwelling on RP realms, it does more harm than good, but you’re going way to aggro on this.

I’m offended by this post.

So very, very, very offended, because you just spoke sense, and that’s not something we can accept on the internet.

Point taken

Right.

If you are not that experimented in term of RP - I do believe, you are in no place to lecture people about their RP. No?

And what kind of people are we talking about? Just because their OOC name is stupid that I should care about it. I’ll just, shrug it off. It is not like they are named after a German dictator or anything as such. Nothing offensive. There is a difference between a joke/having fun and being straight-up racist and such. I don’t see how it ‘grind the gears of people like yourself’.

They’re paying for their sub. Like you do. If you feel tilted over that, get a grip.

You just said you’re a new RP’er. And yet you close the possibilities of people to RP ‘neutral’ factions. In the end, you’re cutting off originality. Which is what is required in RP. Being original. Trying new things, and such.

It is a Saturday afternoon. People have sometimes a family. Perhaps they want to go outside. Do some things and log in the evening for events and such. So I believe it’d be best to take those things in private.

I have RP’ed with the Rastari Pact. And they are far more active than you say. Sometimes, there will be 2 people online. Sometimes, there’ll be 14. It all depends.

You’re being flat out rude as someone entirely new. Think a bit. Is it clever?
In case: No, it is not.

Sometimes, I like to do some PvE or PvP. And why should I go on another server just for it when I can do it on AD with people I know/I like? Sometimes, it is good to have a change of pace. I myself like sometimes to do a mythic or two. Or some PvP. What’s the problem with that?
