Hi peeps, as title says … Can we be 100% sure, that we will be able to re-roll horde on the same PvP server after we send our characters of one faction to the classic forever realms? Or is it going to be faction locked neverthless?
I am asking because my sub is about to end and I am considering making a second account for an opposite faction on a same pvp server. But I would much rather send my ali characters to the Classic copy of the server and create horde on the same server.
Your realm isn’t faction locked. You just cannot have both a horde and an alliance character on a pvp realm. If you transfer your only alliance character, then yes you can make a horde on that server. If you still have other alts, then no.
As long as you follow the rules and don’t have any of the other faction on the realm you can make characters of the opposite faction. Deleting or moving them to Classic-era realms will work, but we don’t know when that will be, during the pre-patch or when the full blown TBCC hits.
I see your points guys, but I perceive some sheningans from Blizz with this. Something like ‘these rules don’t apply to the server copies’ … so you can have only one faction on Golemagg-Vanilla and Golemagg-TBC, for example because of the ‘copy’ option.
Or you guys are 100% sure Blizzard wouldn’t dare to do this?
Well… if you say so Dottie. Otherwise you owe me 60 quid for transfering my 3 max level aliance characters from Golemagg, so I can faction re-roll there haha xD …
It’s really very obvious, you will have no characters on the TBC realm once you have moved to the Classic-era realms. so you can make a new character of any faction.
As long as you can tell the difference between move and copy, some can’t.
This.
I totally expect there being “ghost” characters, waiting for you to buy the copy service.
Better yet, you probably won’t even be able to delete them even if you wanted to.
You cannot copy from the Classic-era realms to the TBCC realms. When you log into the character for the first time after TBCC is active, you get a choice what to do, move or paid copy. If you do not choose you cannot log in fully, like a rename box.
You cannot restore them as they are gone, do I have to link the “for all time” bit again from the TBCC page? There are no “ghost copies” after you move or copy and before then you cannot fully log into them. They are 100% gone after the move. After the copy they will be on both realms.
All characters are on both versions. You decide for each character seperately. Also, you may “unlock” some of your characters on both era and TBC. If you don’t, you csn’t see/play them, which is why people call them “ghost” copys. You can do this (copy) weeks/months later (likely not forever, but for a while). Your characters just won’t be able to take their progress after the initial decision to the other version. Thus, the question whether you will be able to choose the other faction is absolutely valid and we just don’t know yet.
Players who want to experience the best of both worlds will have the option to unlock both “clones” of each WoW Classic character as an optional paid service, allowing each hero to venture forth into Burning Crusade Classic while their Classic Era character continues their original adventure. Clones are created from a snapshot just prior to the Burning Crusade Classic pre-expansion patch and will not include any additional progress from that point on. This means that if you continue to play your WoW Classic character for some months after and unlock the clone at a later date, it will not include any additional progress past the point of the original capture of your character.
