Contest: Archery, racing and royal rumble.
Note: in game I canât use a bow but IC my character does have some (very little) skill with a bow, should I make a Hunter/Rogue alt or will it be ok if I just purely emote the bow?
Hey Siliaa - I am totally fine with you just emoting your bow if you dont want to extra bring a hunter for such purposes!
The sign-up list has been updated!
Archery & Jousting are filling up well.
Racing is getting there!
Dazzle and Royal Rumble might become a publically available attraction spontaneously announced when the tournament day comes, in case there is not enough sign ups to fill the slots.
We also got merchants coming in, bet hosts and perhaps a bard or two to enhance the atmosphere all around. If you want to have a store on the day, or want to socially contribute to anything regarding the tournament, be more than welcomed!

The List has been updated!
Only a few more spots to fill and we are filled on all three main attractions.
Next week, the organizers will come together to finish up the layout of the tournament grounds and the merchants that have so kindly signed up so far, will be then assigned their place to setup.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the Tournament Guys!
Go get that prize money.
I realised that I will be away for an extended weekend vacation the weekend of the tournament, so I wonât be able to participate in the archery competition. Feel free to strike me from the lists and have fun everyone!
Sad to hear, but enjoy your trip and thanks for informing!
Hi you also can mark Saprotroph (Turnip) to be in the Corpsegrin Irregulars Guild too =D
Done!
Turnip also done!
DearâŠeveryone, really!
I come, bearing ill fated news regarding the Tournament and I bear them with heavy heart - rest assured.
Unless someone wishes to volunteer in taking over from the people in this forum, I must sadly announce the cancellation of the Grand Thalassian Tournament.
I know many of you were looking forward to this event and I sincerely apologize for the short notice and any inconvenience this may cause. (Some of you sent me participation fees, please reach out to me so I can refund them fully.)
I do not wish to go into too much detail, but over the past weeks I have been grappling with some intense personal challenges, including mental health, insomnia and worst of all - burnout caused by a plethora of factors IRL and unfortunately even RP related. Organizing this event has been a labour of love and dedication, but as the tournament drew closer it became clear to me that I do simply not have the capacity to stem this on my lonesone without risking further impact on my well being. Sounds dramatic, perhaps it is, but it is simply the truth with my current RL throwing a HUGE curveball in -anything- I do.
I truly wanted to make this a memorable and engaging experience for everyone involved, but I must now also prioritize my well-being before all else. Sadly, despite my best efforts to find someone to take over from my circle of friends, I was unable to secure anyone who was in a place of helping themselves, which has now led me to make this difficult call.
I want to take my time to thank everyone who showed interest and support for the tournament. Honestly, your enthusiasmn meant the world to me in the DMs I received and I am deeply sorry to let you down especially.
I hope to revisit this idea in the future when I am in a better place in life again.
I appreciate any understanding and compassion in this.
With sincere apologies and gratitude,
Itâs with a heavy heart that it comes to this. Life has been coming at all three of us hard and fast over the last two months or so, and like a certain demented theme-park skeleton always says: The Ride never does end.
Would that we had the ability to simply tough it out until the Tournament had been held and concluded. Alas, it was not to be. We desperately tried, we really did.
But it comes to this, we really are sorry.
Itâs not easy to have to come forward with such news over ourselves as people, the strength it took to openly post your thoughts and feelings for many to see is one which shows strength. The road is always a long one, sometimes itâs smooth, other times itâs not.
Yet focus on yourself, and find the joy you can in whatever it is you wish to undertake. Even as a member of the Mournflame Guild, it is a sad to hear such effort and promise has been cut short. Alas, this happens to us all. No one can escape it.
To those who was excited for the Tournament, Iâm sorry that this is the fate. However, Iâm sure in time another will arise and perhaps the spark of joy can bring back what was once.
This is most unfortunate news to hear. I was personally extremely excited for the tournament but itâs completely understandable your reasoning to cancel. I hope things get better for you, sending love.
Please, do not feel any sort of guilt or be sorry for not being able to host this currently. You as a person should always come first. You tried to get someone to take over and thatâs all you can do.
There will always be oppourtunities to host this again in the future. Iâm sure youâll get just as much interest in it then as you are now!
There is a saying. It has been passed down from role-player to role-player through the years. Words of comfort, wisdom, and most importantly of all, truth.
âReal life comes before RP.â
I hope things improve. QuelâThalas will be here when they do.
Thank you all very much for the supportive resonance, it does help me alot in this!
Much love x
Hello there,
first of all, it is sad to hear about the cancellation (or possible, depending on if others have time and planning to pick it up), I had looked forward to get out and introduce one self to others - of course, I already am wandering around anyways.
Right, to the main post. I hope our hosting team are all okay, and will handle theirs as well as they can. You should not judge yourself if you are in need of taking care of your own well-being, just wish for you all to be okay! Real life comes before game anyways!
Maybe a tournament shall arise in the future once more - joint with the other factions, or not. Hoping for the best for all, and have glorious adventures for everyone!
Never be sorry for what you cannot control beyond your own measure and never insult yourself over this whole situation.
Youâve done an amazing thing, started an amazing initiative. - You planned meticulously for what was about to be a really great thing that rivalled the ye olde Redridge Games.
You did amazing and you did great.
Mental health in this day & age is something everyone needs to take more seriously, especially with how much itâs became public knowledge and engaged in.
You will be alright pal and youâve done great with your idea many a men would not come up with or be able to plan. - What youâve brought to the table here could be the idea and flame that carries a ton of new ideas into new initatives and formats.
I hope your RL situation gets better and Iâm sorry for whatâs happened but, who knows maybe in a few months youâll be able to get it wrapped up and ready to go.
