My housing experience bar seems to have stopped a third of the way in on level 3 and no amount of purchasing, placing or exploring will budge it, so I am basically stuck in early access with a dud home.

In early access you can max out at housing level 5, but the introduction to housing is pretty uninformative. I just learned through a 3rd party site, that not all items give you housing XP, so I installed 2 addons, which were an tremendous help
The decor items only give XP if they say it will give a first time bonus on the tooltip.
You can also see which items will do this by going Housing Dashboard → Decor Catalogue → Filter: Collection Bonus

Have the same problem, stuck at 1720 on level 3 on housing, have not found any solution so far.
again? incredible how unintuitive is wow. Even wowhead is useless this time.
Having the same issue. Level 2 at 550 exp.
Just double checked with decor in my inventory: +10 xp for first time owning. After getting several of these, exp still locked at 550 exp not moving.
Hope this gets fixed and recalculation is done so there’s no loss on exp in this temporary state
logging onto a different charcter updated the exp bar so in that way it’s fixed
You have to talk to the human male in the housing village to upgrade your house to level up. It’s on the map called “housing upgrades”.

After a few days housing rep not working i log in on a bank char and got 3 Achievements 350/400/450 decoration items. It worked also again with new items for rep.
But today when i buy items at vendor i cant use them, item stays in inventory unused.
