Yeah but those people clear hc in months when they are showered in gear and sometimes not even then, so at that point, does it matter?
I’m not saying tune the game esclusively to pro, but it’s clear that artifically slow down the top player progression doesn’t work, makes no difference to total noobs, and just annoy everyone in the middle.
That is true, yeah, but I think major problem here is that they cannot introduce a change which just impacts “everyone in the middle”. Just saying.
yeah, and i could settle for a Salad when i want a Kebab…
Bosses and PvP should not drop nothing but tokens you trade for gear, gear upgrades, gem slots, gems, enchants and reforging anvils. Random random stat loot is awful and stupid in a year 2021.
I remember times where was less items to farm and other players can pass me items because of master loot. So I gear up my Monk in two months of raid, and then I geared every of my 20 alts. In Wotkl, Cataclysm, Pandaria and WoD all my characters was geared for currently raid even if I was playing as casual.
The loot system needs to be looked at. It’s great in the beginning as pretty much everything is an upgrade, but once you start acquiring better gear it gets much much harder to get the actual gear you really need/want.
This week:
10 x HC + 3 x mythic on main (243 ilvl) = one piece of loot I didn’t need. 4 x lvl 14-15 dungeons = 0
5 x HC + 6 x norm on this char (238 ilvl) = two piece I had to give away. 10 x lvl 12-14 dungoens = two pieces I didn’t need
6 x HC on another alt (234 ilvl) = one piece I had to give away
That’s 41 instances of reward possibilities and six items that were worthless.
That actual loot drop seems more or less a dice-roll, but factor in all the stuff that’s worthless then that figure becomes exponentially greater.
Vault = another lottery.
I’ve done prolly an average amount of content compared to others but it’s basically the same story every week: slapped in the face for all the effort I’ve put in - not to mention the hours spent in LFG or waiting for groups to form. Occasionally there’s something you need but the reward is scant compared to the effort put in.
Only suggestion (and it is only a fleeting thought) I can muster is to have some kind of points system allocated to gear. Rack up enough points and the gear is yours.
I don’t mind working for rewards because at least I know there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, atm it’s just a never-ending tunnel.
Today my friend vault with 5 trinkets, She need trinket but she need two so one each week, not every trinket in one week.
I today got worst items than I have because I picked stuff from Kel and Sylv.
yes why not remove dps critics from raid finder also
noone cares about dps when you are likely ignoring mechanics yourself to"argue" instead
they are from 2 big servers which shall not be named
not saying this kind of thing happens often but youd be surprised honestly
The only problem with loot is ‘Soulbound’ thing which doesn’t make sense. Why not just let people trade their gear freely (whereever they got it)?
Even worse - in M+ you can’t trade item you got if you have lower ilvl equipped, so guy that desperately needs that item will get nothing while you sell it to vendor or disenchant.
Because if you give players the freedom to manager their loot and do what they want with it, everyone will suddenly become a loot goblin, and the only purpose of guilds would become to ninja loot for the GM and their friends. /s
Wdym?
Looting logic can stay the same, I meant ‘soulbound’ stuff that disallows you to trade/give items you already have.
For me binds on pickup should be replaced with binds to battle net account. This would make a HUGE difference in QoL for alts. You pick up a 252 leather piece? Now you can play with your rogue DH druid and monk! You still have to earn the gear piece but it’s value is suddently much higher since your entire account can use it.
Because if you don’t limit item trading then everything will be worthless.
You’ll find heroic quality gear on the AH for a few gold because players keep on generating new loot all the time and it’ll only keep on getting more and more irrelevant.
There’s a reason why basically no game allow you to freely trade equipped game. It kills both gear progression and the economy.
but then the drop chances will need to be like 5% to keep replayability
No, I have got a better ideA:
How about loot only has main stats (str + stam) and all secondaries are randomized. So you could get haste + crit on your shoulders but another guy can get vers + mastery on the same shoulders. Or you could get double haste??
That way people won’t skip bosses because they don’t drop anything for them, since now all bosses have a chance to drop your BiS!!!
More time farming gear = more time investment = better success metric results.
I was being sarcastic. My point is that a lot of people are opposed to making any sort of loot trading possible because they’re scared that everyone will steal their loot. Just look at the discussions about master looter.
How, via trade? They can still steal gold or other stuff that way if somebody’s stupid.
Maybe, but now boosting does kinda same thing (people pay gold to get carried and get loot). Top gear would still cost a lot (same to legendaries or even more).
They think guilds are lead by corrupt people who only want to hoard loot for themselves, so if loot was tradable, they think the GMs will demand this loot be traded to either them or their friends under the threat of being removed from the guild.
People have an irrational fear that everyone around them is out to scam them, even in guild environment, but it’s mostly people who aren’t in a guild and only have a notion for some reason that guilds are like this.
Lol, why would anyone even stay in that guild though?
Yeah but when someone is boosted he keeps his gear. He won’t sell his boosted gear to someone else the moment he gets something better (who will in turn sell it later to some else and so on).
At the end of the day we’ll end up with more mythic quality gear in the game than we have players and the entire reward loop will collapse.
The issue is less that you could get BIS gear from the AH but rather than gear itself will become worthless a few months into the patch. It’s still the main reward in WoW and getting rid of it wouldn’t be healthy for the game imho
