How can I see my total spell power?

I remember you could see how much +healing or damage you had in old vanilla. Now I only find info on melee and range attack power. This baffles me as there are plenty of casters out there who wishes to obtain this information in a convenient way.

You could in tbc. For vanilla, you needed an addon with some kind of gear scanning, like titan-bar.

DejaClassicStats does that. Spell power for specific schools(+heal included.)

You couldn’t see in vanilla. You could since TBC, or technically since patch 2.0 which is de facto still vanilla but it’s the TBC pre-launch patch.
