So what made you decide to go onto the realm that you are currently playing, or have your main on ?
For me it was quiet weird and funny discovery to get to know that Azjol-Nerub / Quel-Thalas is(are) french connected realms.
When I discovered ratio of Horde and Alliance first hand after getting wiped out back in Battle for Azeroth, I decided to check realm pop and understand straight away that I have made a huge mistake of leveling my main warrior on the Alliance (sort of) dominated realm.
Even today and few weeks prior I was getting shattered on Azjol-Nerub and no regrets, I love it.
Also been enjoying playing on Draenor with all the Hordies running around and having fun, while Azjol-Nerub feels desolate at times from Horde perspective.
What about you, why you decided to join your realm?

I knew other players on it IRL.
it auto picked the realm for me when i started to play wow

Originally I was horde and joined a friend of mine, then he stopped playing and with a new friend, we decided to migrate on pve and ascended Alliance of course

Didnât even know that it can auto select a realm.
Even though, I remember when I played for the first time on the official server, was actually (at least I think before you could play on Russian realms from European zone) or rather, me and my friend were buying cheap subscriptions because in Russia they costed lower than in Latvia, and so we played on russian realm. I remember my first char on the official retail was named ĐМигŃŃĐ´ĐžŃ after one famous russian celebrity (Dzigurda) and it was a Worgen warrior during Mists.
But I chose Azjol-Nerub because I was a massive fan of Wrath and all that surrounded Arthas, and so - here you goooo.
I liked the name, had no idea what the emerald dream was.

Turalyon was (and still is) the recommended server for new players for obvious reasons. And since I was a new player back then, I didnât really knew what made it better for new players than other realms, so I picked it to be on the safe side.
Now, how is Turalyon better for new players? Well, it is actually it is not. Despite being connected with Doomhammer, the total number of players still makes Doomhammer/Turalyon a low population tier realm, so getting new players funneled to Turalyon is obviously needed. There is reportedly a slight Alliance majority, but the factions are even enough to also be playable on Horde.
As for why I am still playing on Turalyon/Doomhammer, it simply stlll works for me. I havenât any reasons for moving somewhere else.

When I got a Recruit-A-Friend invite I joined a friend who played on Hellscream.

Started my journey on arathor with my brother in vanilla. After a while due to changes and stuff I ended on draenor cos its one of the most populated realms these days.

Few of my friends and I decided to get back to wow in WoD after skipping cata and mists and draenor was high pop with good economy back then. They stopped playing wow in SL and Iâm the only degen left. Iâm about to transfer to another realm though.

i only started wow recently , so i did not want to make a mistake , it is always more fun to take most populated server and have a good experience
What were you considering the most when choosing the realm even with the help of Google?
Are you playing the AH game and it was crucial for your interest in Auction House and stable realm economy?
Or just pure amount of groups you could join on your realm for M+ / PvP and other activities with players ?
pure amount of groups , + kinda 50/50 because i like world pvp with warmode but i think everybody is connected anyway , idk how it work tbh

It was time to go horde so i went with draenor.
My retail server (or more like its ally side) is full of people from my country and so I made all my toons but my latest alt there (which is on AD).
My choice of Classic server was HWL, because I wanted to play on a non-PvP realm for a good reason, and it was the only non-full such realm back when it launched. I did move over to Mirage weeks ago, however.
I didnât know what normal, rp, or pvp stood for when browsing the realm list. So i thought the safest bet was to pick one that had rppvp and it ended up being scarshield legion.
A few years later i moved to defias brotherhood and have been there since then.
