How do I get MVP on the forums?

I think it would fall on deaf ears.

When Activision Blizzard restructured their company recently, the Community Teams were downsized. So there are less resources in this area to go around.

Besides, I think the MVP program is outdated, and is really just a relic from a time passed.
I mean, it goes back to the mid 90’s when all gaming communities existed on forums. And the MVP program was a forum program, because that’s where Blizzard had all its community engagement and interaction. There were the forums, or you could call them on the phone.

But time has changed. Forums are not really the center of the gaming community anymore. You got streaming, social media, YouTube, blogs, and so on.

If Blizzard are ever to revise the MVP program, then they’re probably better off remaking it entirely with the modern times in mind and the way the internet has expanded. The forums are such a small part of the Blizzard community presence these days.

Obviously, it does, just ask Blizzard.

I don’t think anyone’s posts should be highlighted if not based on merit, but hey, that’s just me I guess.

Puny posted a link to all trust lvl 3 chars a while back, and i was surprised by the amount of greens that were on there. Ppl i’ve never seen and they had 0 posts on these new forums.

My name is Grov

Huh, haven’t seen that. But yeah. I remember posting on the Diablo III forums after the Diablo Immortal announcement, and then this random Diablo MVP appeared out of nowhere. And I used to be an MVP there myself and I was like: “Who the hell is this dude?!”
So it turns out the guy got MVP in the early days of Diablo III when Blizzard looked to fill some slots there, but then he quit the game because he fell into that big category of unhappy players. But then 6 years later the dude comes back from his long hiatus just to trash-talk the announcement of Diablo Immortal – mind you, whilst still posting in green. And then he vanished shortly after again, presumably still green.
I mean, doesn’t get more random than that. :yum:

Sorry i missed the I im rather tired at and i mistyped please accept my apology.

I just found it funny because Grov is a way to describe bread in norway like Grov Bread

And we go back to earlier discussion, who decided on the merit? The criteria for MVP has been explained and linked in an earlier post and as the current MVP’s seem to be doing what is expected of them, we could say they are meeting that criteria and therefore do merit the status and the highlighted post. But as you say, this is just my view, I think I will jump off this merry go round now, have a great day

I know they do, i was just surprised by the number of them as i usually only see like 5-6. I realise there are alot more of them and some probably are on other language forums aswell.

I’m getting a headache :man_facepalming:

The merits of the posts, not the position of MVP.

The readers will decide with upvotes or not lol.

Now you have another character name. Now, go make that alt!

I think Anna was just saying that if a multi boxers accounts are linked through bnet then they can still be identified as being the same person if they are abusing the system the same as if someone alt flags. Wasn’t any harm meant in her post :kissing_heart:

It’s probably to do with the bnet ID number that moderators have access to.

Obviously not going into details here, but nothing that happens on our services/servers is ultimately hidden from us if we want to find out about it - so if people feel like e.g. patting themselves on the back with a few alternate characters/accounts, we’ll be aware of that.

Back on topic: it is actually rather great to see the discussion here. As has been very correctly called out the MVPs are neither unified in opinion nor somehow only capable of providing praise regardless of what the topic may be.
It is however safe to say that each and every one of them earned their status by being a thoughtful contributor, offering genuine opinions and treating everyone with the respect they deserve. Whether taking on the green mantle is an honor or a burden… well, opinions on that may differ greatly between individuals, but getting to that point always includes representing some of the best our community here can be.

In other words, and at the risk of repeating the already made point: being excellent to each other is what counts. :sunglasses:

We do but as one of the MVPs discovered it isn’t automatically maintained. They went down and back up again
