Yes, wich is one of the reasons i hate GS. It says nothing about a players char really. I have friends that have a high GS set and then a real set with lower GS with the stats they need for their class and spec so they can get in to groups.
GS monkeys also tend to never actually lead their raids and never explain tactics even if it is some homebrew they saw in a video somewhere and just expect everyone should know all tactics everyone uses on bosses.
Well you could use gold
You really think any half decent raidleader that asks for your GS doesnt have warcraftlogs open and just uses that number to determine if its even worth checking you?
There is tons of not so decent RL that ask for GS and logs but never checks it.
And why would you want to join their clown runs instead of a proper raid?
Thats how people that need to fake it get in to groups.
Because if you don’t you never get into groups for anything which means you can’t improve your character which means you’re never g… and so on and so forth.
Sometimes you have to suck up the terrible to get anywhere. Let that be a life lesson for you.
I feel your pain, OP.
Farmed some gear for hunter and was looking for a normal Ulduar run - sitting at 4.3k I thought I shouldn’t have much problems.
Was asked if I had completed it and if knew tactics; I linked main. But not a word back.
When I asked after a while, I was told my current char ( the hunter ) has no logs, so no chance of going in.
It is what it is : )
No thanks, I don’t pay for micro-transactions especially not ones from third party websites.
Algalon is the prime example. As long as you don’t play a tank or healer, you don’t even need a video. Just smack the hell out of the boss with your axe, move to the left or right side depending on where Cosmic Smash is going to fall and jump to the black hole before BB. As long as you dodge Cosmic Smash and BB, it’s just a parse dummy. Even some 5m heroic mechanics are more complex than this. Star killing is usually handled by 1-2 experienced players and no need to worry about this, no PuG leader is going to give this task to newcomers.
ALgalon is pog
Surely this can’t compare to the World of Warcraft
You don’t . Or you lie and cheat about doing it allready .
Tanking Algalon is easy too, you just have to make sure you have an active cooldown (either your own or somebody else’s) ready whenever you’re tanking.
The only people that need to know the tactics are the healers, the paladins (aura mastery and divine sanc rotating) and the person assigned to dealing with the stars. (Which typically should be your raid leader anyway)
Tanking is the hard part on Algalon. Everything is a lot easier. None if it is really hard tho as the fight is not mechanicly hard but rather a gearcheck.
Healers dont need to know tactics on that boss more than “dont stand in bad”. All they need to know is how to heal and when to switch healing targets.
And when to use cooldowns and when massive raid damage is going to happen. That’s much more difficult than tanking.
Citation? I tank Algalon in our 10man runs.
Lmao is this actually a thing?
It was back in the original WotLK as well.
You are seeing it from a Paladins PoV only. The CD’s will be called out by the tank or the Starkiller.
PoV: I Heal/OTank Algalon in our 10mans.
I don’t play paladin.
