Blizzard just said its gonna be only one server and they are gonna force people to play faction they do not want to play because of some balance. Real Vanilla when I was a kid was not about forcing people to play what they do not want to play.
How can they give just 1 server if they gonna force faction balance its impossible. Or do they want people who are getting DC on start lose the whole experience cause they cant make the character they want if they dont wait in login queue at the very start for hours?
I always played horde since Vanilla till Cataclysm where I ended because I did not like Pandas. Came back when I heard of Classic, played a little SoD since there was no Classic fresh.
So please make sure people get to play the faction they want since I will never ever play alli since I never did and never will and what kind of nostalgia would it be to play something else than in Vanilla. I imagine its the same for ppl who prefer to play alli.
Also I do not care for racials and ofc alli is better for playing tank without any choosable sword skill on horde side but no one cares we played what we played as kids. And want to play it again.
On the first day, you can pretty much create a horde char.

TBH in vanilla, with today´s minmax-the fun-out-of-everything community, you´ll probably have more problems creating an alliance Toon if faction balance is forced, unless there were buffs and nerfs to racials that I´m not aware of.
The PvPers gonna roll horde cause of racials for PvP, it used to be more horde than alli in Classic too.
No one is gonna be Tauren warrior tank for nostalgic reasons but I believe that together with the people I have in SoD I will 20 extra non min maxers for nostalgic 40 man wipin in raids especially since GDKP is banned.
But first of all we need to be able make the characters and not suddenly be forced to be alli cause some minmaxer PvPer was clickin faster to get a horde char.
Yes, the PvPers will primarily roll horde.
It might have made sense to specify that you were speaking of PvP going in as opposed to digging on pandaria and other irrelevant tangets that merely muddied the waters, as it would have changed the answer…
Because, and I truly don´t mean to be a richard here, most WoW players regardless of which version are PvE players, and will (understandably) assume that the discussion is primarily PvE related if as here zero indication to the contrary is given… for ex as a PvPer, that usually spends most of their time in instanced content to begin with (BGs /Aremas), the setting of an expansion really doesn´t tangent your gameplay experience in the slightest, so at the very lates latest when you said you left because you don´t like pandas it was almost a no brainer to assume that PvP was not a relevant criteria for you. 
PvP is not relevant but I want to play on PvP server because I always did since the first Vanilla Darksorrow server as a kid.
Its like part of the game that the alli is red and you kill it or get killed unless they /wave or something 
I cant imagine playing PvE server. Also I very seldom do PvP except farming the BG (being ganked by premade in WSG/AB until AV queue pop that horde always win) for R14 (since its useful in raiding) in Classic (the first Classic obviously as kid in Vanilla never got more than Legionnaire or something cause parents did not accept 24/7 playing even in summer vacation from school).
But its like how its supposed to be the allies are red and if U dont want to fight then /wave or whatever or so was the case in Vanilla. In Classic on Gehennas they were almost extinct.
So I wish to be able to create my character as horde since otherwise I miss whole fresh since I cant imagine playin alli. And I do not do it for PvP racials but for nostalgia since I play for fun not tryhard and so is my guild too for fun. We clear everything ofc but not tryhard it.
I really dont think you gonna have a problem creating a Horde character…
There are far more players doing PvE content then PvP, and also the PvE players mainly choose Alliance to play…
These are just my thoughts, so could be wrong tho…
