It appears it is impossible; the system sends you either to the automatic restoration or ANY other loosely relevant option appears to not allow to just open a ticket to talk to a human.
Is that a recent development or do I miss something?

Donât think you can anymore. But the restoration page should work or so I hear. If its not too long since you lost your item.
If you checked all the above, and you still canât restore your item, it means the item was purged from our database.
Generally, the better the quality and the higher the item level, the longer an item will be retained. For example, a Common (white) item may only be recoverable within one day, while an Epic item may be recoverable for 30 days.
Purged items cannot be restored by any means.
Just send a normal ticket it on let blizz pass it through to the right place. What you trying to restore? They are very tight on what you can and canât.
Itâs not recent.
I remember a good, regular poster here unsubbed after being denied a manual restore of an item the automatic process didnât cover. I canât remember the name ⊠itâll come to me. His dog was Tuvaaq. This was back in ⊠I want to say Legion, but it might have been Warlords.
I can see Blizzardâs motivation. If manual restoring was taking up a lot of support time, they would have a reason to make it self-service, and forbid GMs from doing it manually so that people donât just bypass the automation.
The problem is in the selection criteria for what can be restored by the system. I know how stingy programmers can be about numbers of transactions and storage in a busy system, so they excluded Greys and Whites. They also enforce some kind of time or itemcount limits. I count about 100 items one of my characters could restore at the moment, going back about 3 months. That decision may lead to some cases of dissatisfied customers.
There is no such thing (anymore).
I remember trying to contact humans at blizzard few times lately, but no chat, no live call was available at any of these times. Not sure if this still works at all after they fired most of the support stuff. But generally making topics and contacting blizzard is made to be close to impossible to avoid ppl contacting them, unless they are super desperate, so gl. They dont give a damn about customers once the presales are done. Its a disgrace to what Blizzard used to be. And even if you manage to contact them, dont hope for too much. Its always just copy pasta after few days of waiting.
Yes. People will dismiss you as âwhiningâ but think of this: the game had MILLIONS more users during TBC and WotLK.
Why would it be now such a big issue?
Years of covering the fact that WoW loses profits instead of going up to please investors. Short term money grabs for cost of long term health of the game. It was super obvious, what was going to happen when they started doing cuts in budget for everything wow related, like support, dev team, using bandaids instead of fixing core of the issues, acted more and more like ******* towards customers and using predatory practices, alienated all types of players due to low effort content and now they also alienated NA twitter. The only thing they care about and are trying to fix is the NA twitter, but you probably already noticed. The game development is their last concern.
because they have heavily cut down on staff? thats why.
you can still make normal tickets, however, like Skullstalker stated, they have clear guidelines about item restoration. so if its not in your restoration page, its purged from the data base and even a gm cant restore it, hence, no need to make a ticket in the first place.
so, just on the off chance, what did you lose and when?
How do you know that? WoW is still their backbone, and they donât report âWoWâ profits (itâs whole-parent-company profits).
You canât. Tickets now appear only for special topics like âIâm bannedâ or âI got hackedâ.
I meant it a bit differently than you got it. I dont know the current profits, but they started dropping down and they started doing weird **** strategies and cuts in every aspect of the game to make up for it (e.g. paying less ppl means less expenses, recycling content, mechanics, content drought covered by fomo 6m mount subscriptions, etc). And their investors sue them for the fake reports and lies, which is easily google-able, if you want some actual proof.
Everytime I want to write a GM ticket I always click the ââMy answer is not listed hereââ option to the write a GM ticket pops up⊠Itâs a bit of a maze to find it⊠But it was still there last time I checked.
Maybe ask with your wallet?! I hear they respond fasterâŠif you shove them $500.
Honestly, if you use any topic, state your issue, they will forward it to a person, whos in charge of copy pasta for your issue bracket. I wouldnt be worried about where you put it too much.
You can make normal tickets, I made one less than a month ago and got a reply from a human GM who resolved my issue straight away within a few hours of me submitting the ticket. I know it was an actual human because my ticket was about a unique issue and the response went into details about the issue and how they intended to resolve it.
What a lot of people donât understand, and donât like, about the ticket system is that a lot of issues raised canât be solved by the GMs sat going through the queues and they can only give âcopy pasteâ answers and general advice to help, even advising people to come here to the forums and ask for help from other players who may have had similar issues and be able to help solve the issue.
We players do have a lot of knowledge between us, I had an issue with starting the Volâdun questline in BfA and opened a ticket, the GMs couldnât resolve the issue but a forumer knew what the problem was and tipped me off on how to solve it.
What they are able to help with might be issues of accounts being compromised or payment issues but surely you canât be mad about them actually being paid to resolve an issue like that?
There is a resource available to restore items, that is in place to help avoid the tickets system being clogged (even more) with people asking GMs to restore X item all the time. Itâs already clogged with ban appeals, bug reports, complaints to the devs, complaints in general and any number of âotherâ topic that the ticket system wasnât actually intended for.
not sure if you meant to reply to me.
Thatâs just a search box. It does look like a ticket box but itâs not. Click 'continue" and youâll get an automated suggestion to go to another page.
Uh I know, just looking at this gives me PTSD. I was always just clicking through everything and eventually hit the actual ticket, lol.

For what kind of topic? The current website appears impossible to send you to a general ticket page.
