Amidst all the faction bias we are lucky enough to have Shadowmoon Orcs who own Blackfuse notebooks and can open wowwiki when it’s convenient.
Yeah it happened… However it was a Nightborne… more easy way to access WowWiki on Azeroth :^)
"I’m sorry, there’s a CITY of TROLLS?
“I thought they simply sat in trees all day.”
You can actually see Horde forces in-game attacking Brennadam. There are also quests in Stormsong Valley where you aid Kul Tirans to combat the incursion and attack Warfang Hold with a stolen goblin prototype shredder. That’s not something which can be swept under the rug.
they’re disguised quillboar saboteurs that nicked horde equipment.
Due to the raid taking place in Dazar’alor, she doesn’t care all too much, but is afraid the Alliance might invade Quel’thalas in the near future.
Oh I know that, bizarrely I just did the whole Brennadam stuff on my glorious Dark Iron Paladin the other day, hence me remembering the line of dialogue. A lot of it doesn’t make sense, the dialogue I mean, but that is because originally it was written as a Quillboar attack, which then leads to the follow on quests against the Quillboar. You can tell it makes no sense because they have thrown in Horde mobs around those Quillboar, and they are nice as pie with them. Actually go there as a Horde character and they are hostile. It was an eleventh hour change. Undeniably Horde in game, but not originally written that way.
Still, lets go with that as canon, as well, it is canon.
The Alliance relationship with the Zandalari has always been a curious one, and has not always been War, remember the War Canoes pulled up at Stormwind? during Cata? I think.
Equally, since then there has been fighting, on the Isle of Thunder especially, however -technically- that was a case of both Blood Elves and the Kirin Tor invading the place, so we were kind of the aggressors… Yes, the Thunder King was a bad dude, but lets be fair, neither side went there out of altruism, it was a blatant “Lets grab snacky stuff” attempt by both sides.
Since then, the Zandalari, with this massive Golden fleet, (Until Jaina ex Machina redux) have not in any way attacked the Alliance. Or Horde for that matter.
So even taking into account that the -Horde- attack Brennadam, the Zandalari are actually the injured party here.
Destruction of a troll city in a land she have never seen is not going to sadden her much (which is too bad, I believe she would quite appreciate Zuldazar if she were to see it one day), but it’s the death of a potential ally-king (even if barbarian), and the destruction of a float she know was needed. So not thrilled about it.
Saddened. Understanding why it was done, but saddened. Chieun and Chyou’ka visited Zuldazar early on and their previous sceptical-at-best attitude was completely overturned as they were very well treated by the locals and impressed by the city.
She isn’t in a position to go do anything about it right now. But she’ll pray for troll and Alliance alike, as well as for her grandmother-in-law who is in Zuldazar.
This is a bit too much mental gymnastics I think. Kul Tiras has done very little to the Horde during MoP to pre-BfA, compared to what the Zandalari have done (to both Alliance and Horde!). And to describe the Thunder King’s ambition as “Lets grab stuff” is downplaying it a bit. His ambition was to enslave the entirety of Pandaria like it was in the good ol’ days!
I think it’s good to see the situation switched around, with one faction attacking a kingdom that’s been mostly isolated but slowly creeping into the embrace of the opposing faction.
And it’s also a bit funny to see the regulars on this forum use the same arguments their counterparts used only months earlier with Brennadam
I am at least 5% sure that those were/are Darkspear.
I mean the Alliance declared war on the Zandalari and butchered their representatives on foreign soil again and again, but I’m pretty sure Zandalar never attacked Alliance territory.
I can’t remember if they were Darkspear, anyway, there was a period when there was zero stress between the Zandalari and Alliance is what I was saying. Also, This is -How does your character react to the Battle for Dazar’alor? Not, Lets debate whether your character’s opinion is right or wrong? I mean it is their -Opinion- Its not Objective…
Checked up on that, yep, you’re right. No idea why I thought they were Zandalari, The basic point remains however…
They did incite the Frostmane during MoP with the intention of messing with the dwarves in Dun Morogh/IF - https://wow.gamepedia.com/Hekima_the_Wise
But you could equally argue it was just the gracious Zandalari assisting the punished Frostmane after the bronzebeards slaughtered their children…
Its not killing children if they don’t look like humans, Interesting that you only get quests Alliance side that actively tell you to slaughter children. Hmm? Hmm?
Its not even just the Bronzebeards, you do the same quests as a Gnome, but at least that -is- them hitting someone their own size…
This is a whole other topic, but my original point was they were still at war in the same manner Kul Tiras was with the Horde when they attacked
Technically Kul Tiras and the Horde have been at war since Warcraft 3, they never had a cease fire unlike with the alliance.
I disagree, because the Kul Tirans were the aggressors in their war with the Horde, while the Alliance were the aggressors in their war with the Zandalari.
It is from a tactical and political point of view… really… really… stupid.
“Oh lets attack those people just in case they join the horde!”
“What they joined the Horde?”
