How does your character view the Alliance currently?

the alliance are the cool blue guys and they deserve to be hailed as heroes

my character (Vulpera merchant/ nomad) views the alliance the same way it views the horde. They are both great people to trade with. basically walking banks, but hey im not as greedy as a Goblin i wont charge double. im just resourceful.

i do experience some racism for being a race associated with the horde, but its not like i dont experience said racism on the horde. As soon as the horde sees a vulpera they automatically think of furries before i even open my mouth and introduce myself. and some of the bullies are pandas which is ironic.

They are quite literally the protagonist faction. Always have been, always will be.
Horde just needs to accept its role as the antagonist faction, as it always has been, and should always be.

Just more affable dictator Garrosh and less “I opened a sociology textbook at fourteen and became deep” nihilistic omnicidal Sylvanas gang.

Mork: «A fun opponent to challenge! They can be strong, they can be surprising and they can understand the honor of warriors sometimes! I like punching them, I like looting them, and I like killing them. Hmm, hm. I really like the Alliance.»

Faldric (my Human Paladin): «The Alliance lost its essence the day it tolerated warlocks. What do we now serve as ideology? How different are we from the Horde? We use death magic, we use demon magic and void magic freely. Even the Horde is reluctant to use these powers, even the Horde does not tolerate the use of the Void…Are we still the righteous?»

“The Alliance, to me, has always been a bastion of law and justice and is a testament to what unity between like-minded races can achieve. They were a barrier against darkness since I was but a sprout and it has been an honour to represent their ideals. With that said, the blue and gold banner has wavered for many recent winters and become a mere nano-fragment of what it once was. By no means should we abandon our cause and allow separatism to take root, yet there is a great desire to re-evaluate the needs and wishes of its diverse people, lest we make enemies in our own domiciles.”

Betti never took too much joy in fighting the Alliance but in more recent times she’s been able to see through past prejudices towards cooperation. She’s still not a fan by any means and would likely engage some of the most radical Alliance groups in combat if needed but at least working with them on research and economic projects she’s lightened up now and would even come to the defence of Sparkforge Industries.

Mapton actually see’s the Alliance a bit differently. He’s slowly become aware that some of the Alliance hold deep deep prejudices, and while at one point all of their energy was directed at the Horde, it now seems as though there’s cracks showing when he watches groups of different races interacting with each other. Overall though he still deeply values his loyalty to Gnomeregan, Mechagon and Ironforge so he’d never turn his back on them unless one day they become the aggressors.

To Kuwei, the Alliance is a farce.

She considers the common soldiery to be just as barbaric as they make the Horde out to be, except the Horde does not project the compulsory need to thinly veil their bloodlust behind a superficially just cause.

Looking at you, Admiral “They were born to belong to the Alliance!” Taylor. Way to let the mask slip.

When Kuwei first visited Stormwind, she saw the canal streets lined with Night Elven refugees, barely getting by whilst across the street pompous nobles bickered over coppers and decried the state “their” city was in because of the war.

At least the Horde has some semblance of internal solidarity.

Nor is Kuwei’s perception of the Alliance helped by the fact that most of the poopieheads among her fellow Death Knights are Night Elves, Draenei and Gnomes >:(

Human:

Stormwind is our last stronghold, culled by decades of war against enemies obsessed with our deaths. Humanity must thrive in a hostile world full of fierce rivals. By fire, faith and steel do we carve our future from those that would deny us our very lives. For the King, the Alliance and the future of all humanity.

Draenei:

Azuremyst is our last stronghold, culled by decades of war against enemies obsessed with our deaths. The draenei must thrive in a hostile world full of fierce rivals.

Most deny the Light and walk in darkness. A solution must be found. At least the regent of stormwind is faithful. The lightforged are trustworthy, if predictable.

Night elf:

What are we if not slaves to this torment?!

Void elf:

I am helpful, am I not?

Undead:

Git off my lawn, breathers!

Blood elf:

Realpolitik means nobody gets what they want but at least we’re not gutting our neighbours again. Never again shall we be at the mercy of another as tools or victims. Prepare accordingly.

That’ll do for now.

A potential stepping stone in reclaiming Quel’Thalas for her rightful heirs, nothing more or less.

Give them time, they’ll change their mind about this peace bit and come for the Horde again.

Watrus trusts them about as much as she’d trust a fox circling a henhouse.

Nah, it’s too funny to miss out on the continued repetition of the “are we the baddies??” meme playing out over at camp Red.

An upper society of the hypocritic who spew platitudes of morality and judgement when in actuality being infected with more rot then a forsaken found floating in the undercitys green glowing waters. Who make use of the genuine and the gullible to reinforce their placement at the top while hiding behind fake smiles.

Combined with a lower society of rats and outcasts covered in mud and scars, who are more likely to break laws then ever pretend to follow them and They make it worth it to find the gem’s in the mud of the alliance’s lands.

To put it bluntly she has an incredibly biased view with an incredibly high suspicion of anyone in a place of legal authority, she need to spend some time around some Paladins who are genuine in following their oaths to reorient her view a little one day.

Outside of that it’s one of the best trading spots in the world so goblin-esque greed alone would make it worth sticking around for all the golden opportunities the city has if you look close enough. She also has a passing respect for draenei artficers when it comes to their engineering ability, as it gave her some interesting ideas she hadn’t consider prior.

Yeah, and who put them there? :stuck_out_tongue:

(Just jabbin’, I know it’s only her IC opinion. And it was strange how they were left to sit in the streets for 2 years)

One could make an argument that things could have turned out differently if Anduin had agreed to help the Night Elves but then Arathi probably wouldn’t have been plugged.

In any case, there were refugees, and it seemed like they weren’t getting taken care of.

As a member of the Alliance I view them as traitors, and hopefully in the next expansion we’ll get a faction where me, Sky Admiral Rogers and survivors from Theramore, Southshore and Teldrassil can revolt and hang Anduin.

We’ll have our revenge! No mercy for the Horde! No mercy for the Alliance traitors!

Love how all the Alliance players despise the Alliance.

Bros, your playing the wrong faction.

While Horde players over in the other thread mostly speak positively about the Horde.

Kinda like the people playing the goody good guys faction don’t actually want to be/play the good guys faction.

Allow me to play the devil’s advocate: they may not despite the whole faction so much as they despise its leadership.

They may not view themselves as playing the wrong faction; they may view their leaders as the ones who don’t belong in the faction. That’s how revolutions start.

But how can that be if every body loves Anduin as he solves every issue with a click of his fingers and a swish of his golden locks?

I look at the camera.
