How Faerin Lothar can wield and use shield without arm?

Yo,
I returned to have fun in 11.1.7 and 11.2 to get ready to new S3, enjoy new lore…
What a actual dissapointment compared to WoD, Legion etc…
Do you remember Warbringers? These big bad guys in epic fight, watching Kargath to just melt armored orc with broken dagger? Where is this?

What we got in 11.1.7?
Faerin Lothar slammed random angry glasswearing woman npc by shield without arm… magic? Weird thing?
But yo… whats this? This is not hero in Warcraft universe… this is somebody who thinks he is hero and made his avatar in to lore.

I know you wan’t family friendly content in to game to show LGBT, feminism etc… support. Completly okay, but do it in right way and not just random with low quality.

How can blizzard bring us this low quality dissapointment? Its like N’zoth ending compared to Legion ending. Do you remember how every cinematic run a chill down one’s spine…
Thats no existent.

As much I love this game, these changes like /spit remove, pictures changing in instances make me rly annoyed.

Superglued to her shoulder

Shes got a stump or so I’m guessing.

The arm is definitely too short to have a sensible angle to wield such a shield. My own father lost his right hand in an accident and was an amputee below the wrist. He was still able to carry a lot with that arm stump.

But with Faerin? Yeah, it doesn’t really make sense with her. If her stump would be going up to the elbow, then it would make perfectly sense.

Just another reason why this character wasn’t exactly thought through.

OFC you know why this was actually done and not the ‘forum’ reason?

Hell yea, restored topic  I know some pharses could be “offensive” but…
pharse like “I’m playing World of Warcraft not watching N-----x”… is offensive? xD okay change it to “I’m playing WoW not watching unnamed series/movie platform”

So to get this straight, you are ok with bladefist, literal clan with orcs that remove their hands and strap blades into their bones/arms, mechagnomes are also ok, which replace entire limbs with prosthetics, but a prosthetic with a shield is too much?

I understand that the story and quality of writing in this chapter is sub par, but it’s not the fault of the design. It makes ok sense for the universe they are in.

what does it even matter its just a game some of you really need to get a grip and play it for fun and stop making it mean more then it should.

Magic?
prosthetics (and yes, they wern``t a modern thing, even in medival ages those were common, best example Götz von Berlichtingen/ Götz of the Iron Fist)

Also so many thinmg dont make sene but were explainable with magic, like we thor captain america style our pala shield.

gnomes were abel to dual wield giant axes twice thei size but thats not a problem.

were on a low eky for chery picking to frame faerin

However there is more tragedy in the story of the Shattered Hand clan than Faerin Lothar’s story

Amputees in a world of high magic make very little sense.
There has to be a powerful druid who can cast regeneration

Well, we had people who have lost an eye in the game at least from BC onward - I don’t think having characters with lasting injuries is a problem despite the magic. It’s a common trope in all High Fantasy that there are some injuries too severe to still be healed, too old (because no healer was present when it was suffered), or too much incorporated into the person’s identity already for the magic to still recognize it as an injury. Then there are of course magical injuries, like Khadgar’s current one, that can’t just be healed.

But yeah, Faerin is just a figure where they’ve tried to do too many things with one character and that makes her a provocative and unbelievable symbol rather than a strong authentic character.

In reality she shoud be deathweight with her equipment in battle… Not because lack of arm or protestic shield… but because jousting spear she wear, which do 0 damage without horse, and weapon is completly useless on foot, her weapon of choice shoud be short sword or rapier to add finesse and precission in her hand. Guy who gave her jousting spear have like 0 knowledge of history weapons, its just useless fantasy fulfilled.

I think the problem is, some employees trying to not create heroes but they wanna be heroes. In reality they are boring “famous coffe shop enjoyers” (we know which brand but I cant say it there xD)

As a caffeine junkie I can tell you there is nothing wrong with Dutch Bros Coffee!

Faerin is an awesome character. And the fact that you’re nitpicking about a shield not making sense in a game where: We have entire castle towers on our shoulders, where we wield swords three times our size, where we fly on a bazillion things that shouldn’t be able to fly, where the anatomy of some races would literally make it impossible for them to even walk, where huge hulking tauren with hooves can seemingly stealth up behind you, where there is one single orc with eyebrows, where there’s some being living in the core of our world, where… I think you get the point?

Well, that you’re nitpicking about a shield is weird. It makes me think you have ulterior motives. That might not be the case, but it remains very very weird.

Nothing about this trash character is ever explained nor was there any attempt by Blizz to make her make a bit of sense.
