Normally, all the way.
I’m on a bit of an RP break now though, so I attend events.
I plan to get back to it slowly.

That’s just to boost RNG. Do that everytime I’m about to loot a boss that drops a mount. Then finish off with a /kneel before looting.
I don’t do RP. Idk maybe I do names that can be considered RP and mogs that are thematic to the class.
Name always, no weird ones ever. Most have some kind of backstory and I always try to mog and have mounts that fit either the character or class. But only my main and couple of alts have really established stories and someday when I can and have time again, would like to draw some of their moments in their lives.
I’ve seen plenty of rituals at the vault on a Wednesday too!

Vault opening is easy. You do it right as it opens super early, that way you make sure all the good RNG isn’t used up by other people around you.
I do in a silly way. I have a tail and when there is a full moon I can transform into a giant ape the size of a tall building.
Name and mogs, backstory if you count me being picky about what quests I do, but I don’t have any public profile for characters or anything like that.
I got really into some gta v roleplay servers few years back and it was great fun. I’ve never fancied wow role play don’t know why just doesn’t seem fun to me
I had to go for None.
So, taking the numbers, that would mean RP playerbase (if we take invested participation) is around 32% regularly, and ca. 44% overall (if you participate occasionally).
That’s quite big. Granted, WoW is still the best MMORPG out there for RP imo.
So it is none for me!
All the way for me. I love hosting RP events and such!
I cannot RP, my brain just won’t do it.
Kudos to the RP community though for bringing us some great videos from their realms. Barny being the obvious one and also PixelCat, long retired from WoW but still has some hilarious WoW RP videos. The Dark Lord of Stormwind still has the best advice for entering an ERP Goldshire, walk out backwards and it erases everything from your mind!
Not at all, the community has just become extremely volatile and gate-keepy.
Honestly, would say most are not good at RP and hence react with the kneejerk “Muh immersion!!” when someone makes a character that is different.
They just don’t know how to RP with anything out of the normal Pick-3 characters.
When it comes to RP in say dungeons/raid, aka NPC rp:
It’s something the first time around (Chromie has been horrible the entire time), and every time after is just annoying and feel like a waste of time to listen to.
So, I would also select None, especially nowadays.
Ask me around 18 years ago and I would say All the way.
I wouldn’t say I’m big on RP but I do like to make my characters look thematically appropriate for their race and class.
For example, I love the general fantasy archetype of the Elf Ranger, so I try to make my Hunter feel like a fantasy Elf Ranger in her transmog.
I also try to go for a name that could conceivably be a fantasy character’s name or title, as opposed to a pun or disguised expletive.
Recently I updated my transmog on my Hunter to have something that feels appropriate for Dark Ranger coming in 11.0.
I’m involved in the RP slightly, where I just care about the race & class combination for my character and to have a lore-accurate or plausible name.
The only exceptions to this rule are a couple of characters that I have and are too old with so many memories to the point where I dare not delete them and replace them with accurate characters (Waygos is an example of such) but every new alt I create has to comply with the lore; because I care about it more than Blizzard does apparently.
I got up early my vault was rubbish, clearly wasn’t early enough!
Name and backstory, and even then, it’s… a thing of the past. I did it with Visna, briefly, otherwise almost all my RP was done here, on this forum.
Ingame, I’m focused mainly on actual gameplay, regardless of game, which generally means being a warlord that kills every enemy that moves, assuming it’s possible to safely do so.
Names and looks only, minmaxing race is hard when its the toon that we stare the most.
I have 3 vulperas… WHAT DO YOU THINK.
