How is Dungeon soloing going?

Hi all,
Dungeon soloing belongs to my one of the most favourite activities in WoW. Not only because some sort of challenge, but mainly because of making money. Many items ends on AH, some BoP items you can also for good amount of money. It also “make closer” to your character, because you may test efficiency of your gear in practice, learn and practice some mechanics, skill/spell rotations etc.

The biggest disadvantage might be a time spent in dungeon and high risk of death and so break your items, losing buffs from consumables etc.

Yesterday, I was going SM Graveyard with Rogue 39. I can summarize that except for the last boss Thalnos, it was possible to clear whole dungeon without losing a life. Of course, Vanish was the main backup, if anything went wrong. I also loot dagger from Vishas, which I wasn’t able to loot 6 times in previous attempts in normal group. Now, when I don’t need that dagger anymore, I was a bit frustrated. That’s a life.

I love doing dumgeons in a normal way, with group, but soloing dungeon is, according to me, very interesting aspect of the game, which improves you (if you are not pro already) and your moneybag.

What are your experiences with dungeon soloing? Do you utilize this opportunity in game? Have you some interesting feedback from soloing dungeons?

I don’t remember at what levels exactly but I’ve done some bosses in DM, SFK, and SM graveyard (nice loot chests for a poor rogue!), and Gnomeregan entirely. Gnomeregan was sad/funny because I got a rare ring I actually needed and used for a long time (+10 agi, +5 nature and arcane resistance), so well worth the trip.

In ZF I soloed the two named elites for the quest in my late 40s, one with double evasion (I’m PvP/hemo spec) and the other just focusing on damage and interrupting spells. I realised I hadn’t done the quest and it was late to do another run so I just went in and out in 10 minutes.

Lately I’m pickpocketing in BRD every now and then, not so much because I’m trying to get money but because it’s a fun thing to do in short breaks while being close to Ironforge.

Also for the last levels I’ve been trying to stealth run Maraudon with other rogues/druids but so far no luck!

I basically live inside zf right now, just farming gold. I’ve also done like 40ish solo kills on lord incendius for the bracers before getting tired of it and figuring that it’s not worth my time.

It’s one of the main reasons I love being a rogue :grinning: Not only can you solo dungeons, but you also have the control of how you go about it and who/what you kill due to stealth. Oh and of course, you can pick any doors and locked chests.

DM is always fun, SFK is nice and compact for quick runs, but this week I’ve been using Stockades for quick farming runs as I’ve not been able to play a lot after work. But when I’m a little higher, will be going to SM Graveyard/Library which I’m looking forward to.

Princess Theradas is annoying. Can’t properly bait her abilities.

Looking forward to DM.

At what level can you solo DM as ret Paladin?

Been doing princess runs solo for the past few weeks. It’s very RNG, pulling her from the right spot, hoping she does her abilities so you can get some distance from her since she stores her attacks and unleashes about 7 auto attacks at the same time if she gets close and suddenly you have 20% hp left and she’s still in range to smack you.

I can kill her 19/20 times now so it’s not too bad once you figure out the kiting route. Waiting for Dire Maul next.

I just tried soloing Rotgrip at 58, partly for the leather boots and partly for the challenge, and succeeded but barely made it alive even though I knew it was gonna be tough so I went fully prepared. Mongoose, Superior Defense, cooked squid, and MotW on, needed a healing potion and I still almost died.

Double Evasion (but no Cold Blood yet; I regret the order of my talent choices) followed by Stoneform to remove/prevent the stacking debuff, and Luffa to remove some more. As combat it’s probably easier but I doubt it’s doable unless a dwarf or much better gear/higher level.

Absolutely not worth it, but I’ll try again.

I was leveling this druid and realized there were two very nice items worth farming alone.

In Wailing Caverns (which Alliance doesn’t do often) Lord Cobrahn is very easy and drops Leggins of the Fang (level 18), which are comparable to Troll’s Bane (a relatively expensive BoE) and should last me until Gnomeregan’s Triprunner Dungarees. I did it without effort at level 25 with decent gear, so I’m guessing it would still be doable at 24. Cobrahn is level 20 with 3 very weak adds that die very quickly (plus a long patrol that can be avoided).

In Shadowfang Keep I farmed Silverlaine’s ring at level 26 (level 21, +7 str +3 sta). I was lucky enough to get it on my second try although drop rate isn’t too bad. First boss needs some care to try to pull it with one add (either directly or CCing one), and the baron is very easy (I even accidentally pulled the patrol behind the first time and survived with a potion).

I was very happy with these two because it’s an easy way of getting gear that, despite doing it at a higher level, is still very valuable for many more levels.
