As our server is very dead many of us thought of server transferring to a busy realm so ofc Draenor came up as a popular option.
Some guildies of mine are however are worried that the server is too overpopulated and so we would have lag and long queues often and especially when a patch or expansion is new.
So i came here to ask whoever is playing on that server and experienced it themselves over the last years, how bad is it?
I personally wouldnt mind some queues or whatever i just want to see ppl around. Would like to make a decision which server to move to together and could use some other ppls thoughts.
Thank you if you add anything useful to this topic, i appreciate it.
I donāt know how the life at draenor is, though with sharding and stuff lag shouldnāt be a server-related issue, but i wanted to say that my server is also
pretty damn dead. It really sucks.
There are no heroic raiding guilds ( donāt even think about mythic raiding)
no pvp guilds whatsoever.
My current guild has 980 people in it with max people online being 10.
Pugging groups are just not a good experience. So blizzard forces me to:
A. Make a new char on a new server and abandon this poor guy and lose
character-bound achiviements/titles
B. Pay stupid realm transfer to be able to experience a normal server
Not everyone is rich in game. Im as unhappy as i am will spend irl money on this transfer because our realm became unplayable.
I could buy 1 wow token and be poor after.
What i am especially interested in is how is it to play on draenor after expansion release? For how long could ppl experience long queue times after release of an expansion and how bad it would be
Like a couple days or weeks and weeks
If it might stop us raiding because of lag on patch release or any other issues you can think of
We were also thinking of other big servers but the majority voted on draenor and now some ppl are worried if we will be unable to play for a longer period of time around releases. Like we know everyone is migrating to this server and so it might have a lot of issues compared to somewhat smaller servers
It was āfineā this expansion. Iāve heard it hasnt been with older ones. The QOL overall far outweighs the small queues we had (they were never more than 15 min or so iirc)
There isnt any lag to speak of other than the odd freaky spike inside the instance server which is not specific to draenor.
AH can be a bit slow, but we are seeing a new overhaul soon anyway.
There are no queues at present, but on a new patch or expac yes there can be a queue. These can range from just 5 minutes to 1 hour (an hour usually being start of an xpac).
Iām gonna have to build a wall. No more immigrants. Draenor was really amazing during WoD and then tons of people moved and now its meh. We couldnt even log to the game at bfa launch cause draenor was down. Better find another realm.
On release i played bfa only (always staryed like week or so later) first day(nigh actualy in eu) was like 3h que i guess? Second and thrid day was a bit better but still que ( depending on time) after that no problem at all with ques.
As to lag thingā¦ Its not like open world is overpopulated or something, if my net is fine i dont lag at all, so from game side it okej, there was an issue with voldun lagging but i think that was global/multirealm issue.
I didnt play at nazjatar release so camt realy say how it was during that period but i guess it was playable just fine.
When it comes to economy, it cant realy tell is i have nothing else to compare it but u can make some gold using AH. As a non farmer i still can buy whatever i want/need for regular gaming.
Just remember, if u go there, go horde or dont go at all.
There is no point making a community and sit on a server with no ppl on it. We will have a community for keeping contact with ppl who dont want to server change but we do want to move so we can do actual content later on after settled.
Draenor is fabulously busy which is why I live there, I also chose a busy Alliance realm in Silvermoon.
I would highly recommend you make a new char and run it into Org to see what itās like before making the plunge. Get a feel for the server and see if itās the kind of activity you are looking for.
This site gives some indication of activity, is quite nice
Do be warned that at the time of new expansions you will have to log on a few hours early and stay online to avoid queues.
