How is multi-boxing not against the rules?

Today I saw two multi-boxing players. One was 4 priests all following each other and doing the same thing, with the names something like ‘Kalalala’ ‘Kalalale’ ‘Kalalalra’ etc. Smiting everything in a second. Then when I was about to go into RFC a raid (I’m not even kidding) of multi-boxers entered the dungeon together. Same characters, same class etc all doing the same thing. I think there was 6 or 7 of them. How is this even allowed?

Because it makes Blizzard more money.

More money.
But when they use an engine that makes them all attack together that should’nt be allowed imo.

For me it’s just like it’s clearly not how the game is meant to be played. It brings the same feeling that exploits do.

Most people see it as an exploit or pay to win, but Blizzard have said it is acceptable even though most of the community frowns upon it. There is nothing you can do but accept it, this subject has been brought up many times, and Blizzard are not going to change their minds.

Yeah I will just have to accept it, Blizzard is so disappointing sometimes. So someone has more money and ability to do a crazy amount of multi-boxing so they get an unfair advantage? That just sucks. I hope I don’t see any more as I think it will always irritate me haha!

Since I got my first high/max level toon ever, I have relentlessly corpsefarmed lower leveled multiboxers for hours on end. It always brought me great satisfaction to kill them over and over again until they logged out. Even more so when they logged back in an hour later and the process continued for another couple of hours.

There used to be a guy on retail who was always at Isle of Conquest with 20 characters all called choco something. It was quite satisfying to kill 18 of his characters with a single shot from a glaive thrower.

But it does give an unfair advantage in PvP. A bunch of characters perfectly coordinated will beat a bunch of people who aren’t working together perfectly most of the time.

It sucks and the people who do it to get an advantage are quite pathetic, but it’s Blizzards game and they make the rules.

That sounds amazing! Thank you for the suggestion. What is better than killing 1 gnome than 20 multi-boxing gnomes at the same time! Satisfying indeed.

Exactly. In my case, however, it was mostly orc shaman characters. Either way, I won’t hesitate to do the same thing again today; even though, I’m older and have more responsibilities today. My blunderbuss hungers… my insatiable thirst for multiboxer blood is legendary!

If you’d used the forum search you’d see many…many…maaaaaaaaany discussions has been had on the subject before. It would have given you the answers, yet here we are… another month and another Multi-box thread. :disappointed:

Because they aren’t doing anything illegal, they buy several licences, and play all those accounts manually at once legitimately

Why would it not be allowed? It is not cheating and it is not against the rules.

This is just a whine thread. Check out the other multiboxing threads on this forum and you may learn something.

Only because Blizzard makes a lot of money from them (you really gonna ban someone who pays 2-8x the normal amount that others pay?) and they play all of them manually.
If this were any other game it would be rightfully identified as cheating, they only get away with it because they’re essentially exploiting a massive loophole in the WoW ToS that Acti-Blizz won’t close because it nets them more money.

Yeah totally Blizzard, right! Only their game!
Except it’s been quite a standard thing in MMO’s. And this genre has been around quite a bit before WoW.

Multiboxing = Multisubscription, that’s why.

I’m confused is RFC not a 5 man i swear it was in classic 2005 so how could 6/7 enter ?
Botting = script nobody has to press = not legal.
Multi boxing is one person controlling X amount of chars = legal without that player there those chars can not move .
Its a very grey area tbh.

Edit i don’t support multibox btw just saying how it is .

You can do dungeons with a raid group (10 man), you won’t be able to do quest runs that way though.

I havent done a dungeon yet in new classic and i couldnt remember 15 years back so ty for correcting me ty :kissing_heart:

Nope, most MMO’s allow multi boxing. It is allowed because it makes sense to allow it.
