How Is The Game Post GDKP Ban?

So, how has GDKP-ban changed RMT in the game?

Is the game more or less fun now that GDKP has been banned?

It’s great, the chat is completely free of the GDKP spam that was ubiquitous in all previous iterations of Classic.
Now if we can also remove boosting by implementing the change from Wrath/SoD where you get no XP if a party memeber is significantly higher level, I think that would take care of the next big source of spam.

Can’t compare GDKP, never did raid.
The one obvious thing is that prices are still low. Basically everything is vendor trash still, unless equipped. On the upside, crafting professions are cheap. On the downside, mounts are a luxury.

Small positive, since blues are selling for 1-2g (and the odd 5-10 which doesn’t get bought) I don’t feel that butthurt when people snatch BoE blues.

Slightly unrelated but I’m happy that thanks to the tool, resorting to boosts is not necessary.

Slightly more related that the workaround for GDKP is reserving, so you need to puzzle the group together.

I can get behind that, but I’m positive it was intentionally omitted.
I have been victim of a bully kick simply because I was assigned to SFK at 26 (in WLK).

In Classic dungeon finder level ranges are rather lax on the high end, which can be a lot of fun in many ways. Get some gold, help some newbies, stuff like that. It is also strict on the low end (first mobs usually green at lowest entry level). For example, Gnomeregan is defined as 29-38, outside it’s 24-25, inside it starts with 25-26, middle 28, the plateau is 30-32 in the latter sections and the boss is 35.

I do agree, if I see a 60 in a low level group I just want to bail instantly. I’m signing up for fun, not a boost. There are other unfun ones, though, such as 2h warrior with 2 warlocks as healer, or 3 mages which our pally tank has rage quit.

The GDKP ban only did one thing: it removed the GDKP spam. Gold buying (and thereby botting and gold selling) remains unchanged because swipers just moved to Discord.

Blizzard? Start perma-banning gold buyers please. You could start with streamers so it reach the world that Gold buying is a bad thing.
For some reason potato streamers still think gold buying is fine.

One of the rare good choices by Blizzard.

People still buy gold though, do WSG and you see people spending 50g every game.

Actually GDKP is still happening - they are hosted for Cata gold or items. These item bids are pre-determined to avoid getting caught.

Bad. RMT is the same as ever, but removed a choiche how we want to raid and a great opportunity to make gold.

After removing GDKP you want to remove another way to make gold in boosting. removing ways to make gold will push more people into RMT.

I haven’t been online in a few weeks and logged on to trade boost spam that made me feel like puking from the visual chaos…

Get back on era! Yes, GDKP is allowed, and atm there’s literally no gold farmin bots. Although I don’t participate much, it is a legit way to get items and not least to earn gold and catch up for fresh characters. There are still lots of SR/guild raids. No layering and a tight knit community
